I don’t think they will go strong, they will rest a lot of players as the Fulham game is far more important. Even if they do go strong, if Harry Maguire starts we have a chance.

Chambers played at RB under Emery at Arsenal and Konsa has played RB with us a few times. Both would be a more defensive option at RB which Emery seems to like, with the other Full Back the one bombing forward.

Interesting from the Preece article in the BM: "During the ballwork, John McGinn and Marvelous Nakamba - in yellow bibs - were up against French duo Boubacar Kamara and Morgan Sanson in the midfield battle" So, we are either going to see McGinn and Nakamba in the pivot or Sanson and Kamara. Let's hope it's the latter.

It's definitely more difficult getting into Europe in the PL compared to La Liga, but the last few seasons West Ham, Leicester, Wolves and even Burnley have all managed it. No reason we can't One thing about the 'Big 6' is that there are only 4 CL spots, one of them always implodes and has a terrible season, we just have to take advantage of it when they do. Although the progression of Newcastle has just made it more difficult.

The space on the pitch was so condensed under Gerrard due to the narrow shape, he had practically no space. Id' fully expect in a proper setup under UE with more width, he'll have more space to make use of his skill and vision. I'm not giving up on him yet like so many others seem to.

You're right, but we seen last night with Mane all it takes is one tackle and their World Cup is over. I wouldn't be surprised if some United players don't give 100% if they are selected.

I have faith that Emery will identify what is needed with the squad particularly up front, and he'll be backed by NSWE to make the changes in the next few windows. If UE feels Watkins and Ings can't get the output needed, they'll be replaced.

Just talking about the game with a United supporting friend at work, and he made a good point. Even if United put out a strong team, are the players really going to put in a shift in a 3rd round Carabao Cup tie on a Thursday night, when the World Cup starts 10 days later? United will have a lot more players going to the WC than we will, are the likes of Rashford, Casemiro, Ferndandes etc. going to risk picking up an injury and missing the WC? I doubt it. We have a real opportunity to take advantage of that and put them out.

Exactly, he’s here for the remainder of the season regardless. He’s out for 10 weeks, and by the time he’s fit again the window will be shut.

Nobody should be written off. Everyone gets a clean slate under Emery. I don’t buy this bollocks that he’s done. He was phenomenal when he first joined. His link up play with Ramsey in those first few games. He’s lost his way, as most players have under Gerrard. There is still a phenomenal player in there.
