  1. All this armband talk is a good distraction for when England inevitably lose 1-0 to Iran through a Maguire own goal.
  2. Probably not, as most of them holiday in Dubai every year, same laws.
  3. If they felt that strongly they wouldn't be there.
  4. Harry Kane has the IQ of a spud. He's not some civil rights activist, he's being told what to do by the FA. This is all getting a bit silly, they are there to play football.
  5. Netherlands have decided not to wear it now. The others will follow suit.
  6. The whole thing is corrupt from top to bottom and has been since the 70s. Qatar wasn't the first to buy a World Cup, and probably won't be the last.
  7. Dodgy ref decision, 1-0 to Qatar.
  8. Difference being, those two didn’t have contracts running out in 6 months. If Luiz intention is to leave in summer, he wouldn’t have signed a new deal.
  9. This. If any of these FA’s who have come out in opposition to Qatar hosting actually cared, they wouldn’t be going. All talk. Wear a rainbow armband though, that’ll show the Qatari’s.
  10. Are you saying that you have never heard of Qatar's star player.... Akram Afif
  11. Ah yes, they got to the semi-finals of the only World Cup that teams didn't have to qualify for but were invited too. Tell me, how did the fare in 12 World Cups after 1930? When the USA was selected to host in 1994, they were by world standards not a "footballing nation" The "current growth" you mention is a direct result of them hosting in 94. Who knows, maybe in 30 years you'll be lauding over the growth of the QSL, one of the fastest growing leagues in Asia.
  12. Because it's a rhetorical question and completely irrelevant.
  13. While we are on the topic of Brighton, I would test their resolve to see if Lamptey is available. Also, Ghana has some seriously good young talent in their WC squad: Mohammed Salisu (23) Mohammed Kudus (22) Kamaldeen Sulemana (20) If Southampton get relegated, Salisu will probably be sold. A left footed, tall, pacy CB
  14. What about this list for 87m? (Locadia - 17m, Jahanbakhsh - 19m, Bernardo - 10, Montoya - 7m , Izquierdo - 14.5 ,Pröpper - 8m , Matthew Ryan - 6m, Karbownik - 5.5m) Like most clubs, Brighton have scouted and bought some good players, they have also bought a load of crap as well. Just to play fair, a list of players we've signed for a similar amount of 89m (Dendoncker - 15m, Kamara - Free, Martinez - 17m, Cash - 15m, Mings - 22m, Luiz - 17m, McGinn - 3m) Which list would you pick?
  15. I'm fully aware who is hosting the 2026 World Cup, my point was around 'football culture'. It could be argued that the 50 million people in the USA who watch football now, do so because the sport was allowed to grow after they hosted it in 1994, you would deny this to Qatar?
  16. lol, what? Mexico aside, USA and Canada don't have a 'football culture', and the USA certainly didn't when they were awarded the World Cup in '94.
  17. If that is one of the criteria, why is USA getting to host it again?
  18. Request to change the thread name to 'Dibu' for the duration of the World Cup.
  19. He's hitting form at the right time here. I've seen it mentioned before that this WC could be the best in terms of actual football played. As players are at their peak mid-season, rather than exhausted after a long season of playing domestic and European football.

    Unai Emery

Emery also has a better win ratio at PSG than both Poch and Tuchel.
