  1. Literally every team does this at some point, digging up the penalty spot for example, Van Dijk did it the other month, I don't recall the usual pundits making a big deal out it. Martinez is trying to get into the head of the player, to gain an advantage, and it worked.
  2. Or Pickford, he'd be getting labeled a national hero.
  3. If the difference between your country winning and not winning the World Cup is to throw the ball away before the opponent takes the penalty, you can bet every single keeper in the world would do the same.
  4. Surely, he's for Chelsea for the Potter renaissance?
  5. Would be a good signing for the price A lot of competition for his signature though. The one advantage we have is he probably be guaranteed playing time here. Bayern he'd be backup. Inter have L. Martinez, Dezeko Lukaku? Correa. United need a striker, but they have Rashford, Martial, Antony, Elanaga and Garnacho looks to be breaking through.

I think UE would prefer a more defensive minded RB. Going by his Villarreal side. The left sided midfielder drifts in, so allowed the LB to get forward. Usually, a winger playing as the right sided midfielder, so the RB needs to stay back. I could see Konsa fulfilling this role when Carlos is back.

I'm the same, a decent player on his day but nothing to write home about. After a striker and defender, RB is the next position i'd be looking to upgrade.
  8. Any valuation of Emi by the club, whether it be £60m or £100m will be to warn off any potential suiters. The club have no reason to sell, and the player is on a long contract. Unless Emi hands in a transfer request, the club can request £100m. He might not be worth that, but clubs either pay it or be told to piss off. Grealish was worth about £50m max, his release clause was inserted as it was thought nobody would pay it, they did, and the rest is History.
  9. It's amazing what money can buy you. Probably pulled a few strings as all the celebrities including plenty of footballers eat at his overpriced restaurants.
  10. Turkey finished 3rd in 2002, Alpay was in that team.
  11. While playing for Villa, yes. In fact, he's the first active Villa player to play in a WC final, never mind win it.
  12. So, Emi is in his prime? Another reason any club will have to pay and expensive premium for him.
  13. But it shows how much a team is willing to pay. What had Kepa achieved before his move to Chelsea? Emi is now a World Cup winner with PL experience, and 4 1/2 years left on his contract, if someone wants him, they'll have to pay a premium to get him.
  14. Chelsea paid €80 million for Kepa, So I would say it would be in and around that, probably more as he is now a World Cup winner.
  15. Hopefully if he misses this one, he's back for Spurs. Loris vs. Emi round 2.
  16. Emi deserves the Golden Glove for that last minute save alone.
  17. Now the dust has settled. The next question is, will he be available for Liverpool?

    Matty Cash

Matty has made L'Equipe's worst team of the tournament.
  19. I think he will too, but by biggest concern this summer is Man Utd. If they choose not to renew De Gea's contract (which is looking likely), then they will need a keeper. And with Emi's reputation now at an elite level, and with him having PL experience it would be naive to suggest he won't be on United's shortlist to replace De Gea.
  20. I don't think anyone is suggesting he is unhappy, and will come home from the WC and hand a transfer request in. Just that he will now be on the radar of Europe's top clubs, and if they need a keeper and are willing to pay what we are asking, he will go.
