Everyone thought the same with Thomas Muller. He had 10 WC goals by the age of 24, he hasn't scored a WC goal since 2014. Mbappe should break the record barring injury, but you never know. As crazy as it sounds, France may not qualify for the next WC (look at Italy), or they could go completely off the boil (look at Germany).

Liverpool favorites to sign Enzo Fernandez apparently. He has €120m release clause, which would be a mental amount of money considering Benfica only signed him in the summer for €10 + €8m addons. I think River Plate have quite a large sell on clause, so they would be due quite a hefty windfall if the deal went through.

I would imagine it's because most players hit their penalties to the left or right. So, after missing one Lloris would dive to either left or right hoping he's picked the right side so having a higher chance of saving it.

Our record with signing goalkeepers (Emi excluded) is terrible, so I wouldn't be confident we would replace him.

This is not a good sign actually, if Atletico get €50m for Cunha, and are still intending to sell Joao Felix for €80m, then they would have plenty of cash available to bid for Martinez if Oblak leaves.

He said the football in SA isn't as advanced as Europe, that's why SA teams haven't won the World Cup in ages. But as most Brazil/Argentina squad play in Europe it shouldn't matter how advanced football is in SA, as they all benefit from the same footballing environment as the European players. The only teams in SA that have a realistic chance of winning a WC are Brazil and Argentina, and they just haven't been that good the past couple decades.

Yes, but they all play in European leagues, for European teams and receive the same European training as the French players.
