  1. Interesting read from a United blogger, who has used data to find a suitable short term and long term striker for United. Of the final targets, I think the only unrealistic targets for us would be Lauturo Martinez and Osimhen. Of the final list we would stand a decent chance getting most of them. Interestingly Watkins and Ings both make the list, maybe we don't need a striker if we can get them both firing.
  2. We should have taken points of Liverpool, if it wasn't for dodgy defending and missing sitters. They are not great, were there for the taking.
  3. United would pay it. That’s what I said, just short of £20m
  4. I think you got the numbers the wrong way round, Atletico want €21m including wages for a 6 month loan, so just short of £20m.
  5. Coutinho is the key to beating low blocks, pace will be less of a factor against a team sitting deep, so Bailey will be less effective. Aside from possibly Luiz, I’d argue that nobody else in the team has the vision of Coutinho, this is the key.
  6. Had a look at the Wolves forum, most of them would take a draw now if offered. They are expecting a tough game after seeing us go to Spurs and win yesterday
  7. Coutinho doesn’t have the legs to play where Buendia did yesterday. I agree Coutinho should be played as the second striker, in games we are expected to dominate possession, as his vision and passing can unlock a low block. Buendia was great defensively yesterday, but felt he kept making the wrong decisions going forward, in the first half anyway.
  8. Long may he continue going under the radar, and away from the notice of the ‘big 6’
  9. Chelsea new owner has played football manager I see.
  10. Thought he did well today, his play in setting up Buendia was good.
  11. He’s still a £50m+ world class defender, who’d get on most teams in the world, it’s not like they signed Curtis Davies.
  12. The back 6 (I assume McGinn is off camera here) looks so stable, going to be really hard for teams to break that down once it’s a well oiled system. And will be even more effective when we have attacking players that can break effectively on the counter.
  13. The question is will UE stick with Olsen or re-instate Martinez?
  14. Didn’t see much of a high line today against Spurs. Strange that he used it vs. Liverpool, is it perhaps something we’ll see at home and will sit deeper away?

    Unai Emery

It’s just defending, The two wide players just drop back when not in possession.

    Unai Emery

Imagine telling a Villa fan before the Fulham game that we would have Unai Emery as our new manager and get 9 points from Man Utd, Brighton, Liverpool and Spurs.
  17. I’d expect to see Martinez back in goal for Wolves, and then maybe Olsen in for FA Cup.
  18. Hopefully we don’t implode with so many changes being made at once
  19. Forgot what I said. Who needs Messi, we have Emi.
  20. Shouldn’t we keep one of our fastest players on in that case?
  21. If the game plan is to play for a 0-0 draw, sure. I’d like to see us change things to try and win it, wouldn’t you?
  22. Let’s see him 2nd half, hopefully for Buendia.
