    I always take defensive stats with a pinch of salt. Teams at the bottom of the league are always on the back foot so their defenders will be making more tackles, interceptions, clearances etc than defenders that play for top teams.

    I’ve a feeling he might regret not taking Rashford, especially in the latter rounds against tougher teams, he would have been a good option off the bench. Yes, he’s not had a great season, but United have been shite, and that hasn’t stopped him picking Maguire, Mainoo and Shaw.

    I do. There are different types of defensive midfielders in the modern game, the ball wining type (Kamara) and the deep playmaker type (Luiz). They are both DMs, they just have different instructions on the pitch.

    Not sure he's good enough TBH. I can see us making a "Moreno type" signing for a DM, someone relatively cheap to cover and then compete with Kamara when he returns.

    Even if we don't get Araujo (which is likely), a RB/CB hybrid seems to be on the cards. Added to the fact Diego Carlos is probably on his way out, suggest to me a defensive tweak by Emery.

    It’s because of FFP. Selling Ramsey for even £50m means we’d have an FFP profit of £250m. Whereas we’d need to sell Digne for about £12m just to break even.
