Well considering we don't know if Watkins is fully fit or not, there was a real possibility he might have.

The timing of this is bizarre to say the least. Two days before a match, when our only other senior striker limped off in the last game. The Southampton game is our only game before the window closes, why would we not have waited until after that game? Makes no damn sense.

He doesn't suit Emery's Plan A, what about Plan B or C? Now we don't have that option.

The timing of this is bad, completely disrupts out preparation for Southampton. We now only have Watkins (who came off injured in last match) and Bailey (who's not a striker) along with any youth players

It's a tricky one this. While not amazing, he hasn't been terrible either. But he has recently made significant contributions off the bench winning us points. And Emery himself has said he's happy with Watkins and Ings, they both offer something different, which is what Emery wants. If we don't' have someone lined up we shouldn't sell, as it will leave us short. If West Ham want him then we should be asking for £20m, otherwise they can enjoy their relegation battle.

I couldn't care less how much he is on as long as he is making an impact, scoring goals and winning us points.

Everyone assumes we’ll just replace Ings with someone better, when was the last time we did that with a player we sold? Top strikers aren’t growing on trees, as evident by several teams needing one, and Man Utd loaning a bloody Burnley reject.

But he is making an impact, quite a significant one in some games.
