    If there is someone like that out there, then we should go for them. But not having them in place before we sell our top scorer isn't a good decision IMO. Maybe something has changed with Emery after the Stevenage game, but I felt Ings still had something to contribute this season. And selling him now for £15m rather than £10 in the summer, it's not like we need the money. For what it's worth, Ings is currently on 0.66 goals per 90 in the league this season, the highest in our team by far. In his best season with Southampton, his goals per 90 was 0.71, so he's putting in goals at a similar rate per 90 mins to his best ever season.

    He left the squad in order to complete his medical and work permit etc. But no confirmation that he will remain with us, he could potentially return to Colombia for the tournament.

    An example of having a shit backup striker as opposed to a decent one on the bench. It's even more crucial having good players on the bench under Emery as he likes to change things up unlike our last couple of managers.

    Thanks for making that up. Here's a quote from Emery himself contradicting what you've said. Emery said: “Danny is a very good player in the first XI. Against Brighton he scored two goals and, usually, he gives impact. I’m really so happy with him."

    I was using him as an example, as he's been our backup striker in previous seasons. And he's terrible.

    How's it silly? You can have £100,000 a week Danny Ings on the bench who will come on and make an impact on the game. Or You can have £45,000 grand a week Keinan Davis on the bench who will come on and do nothing. I don't care how much our subs are on if they make an impact. Which Ings does. As others have said, it's a good financial decision, but a bad footballing one.

    You said he's not good enough to start, and that he's a high earner. If he's making an impact from the bench, what does it matter what his wages are? In the past we've had low earners on the bench, who are also crap and don't make an impact when called upon.
