Absolutely. I mentioned this before. You don't announce you have £35m+ and then go and start signing players. You get deals in place before you sell one of your assets for big money. I remember Spur did this with Bale, they signed loads of players, then announced they had sold Bale.

Probably not a position we will look to replace in January but come the summer we will probably be looking at a new RB. And upgrade on Cash and Young isn't getting any younger (pun intended). Is KKH ready, probably not. I see Arsenal are about to sign some highly rated Spanish right back, and with Ben White preferred as first choice RB, Tomiyasu could find himself as 3rd choice. If he was available, he seems like the type of RB Emery prefers over the more attacking LB.

No way Emery comes here if we have no money and is sell to buy. We just need to trim some of the deadwood.

I don't think he can be compared to Edouard. He's struggled outside of the SPL. Dembele has scored in Ligue 1 which while not at the level of the PL is miles ahead of the SPL.

I think it's just the wage budget that needs brought down, we can't keep players like Nakamba and Sanson on the payroll that aren't playing.

Was only really looking at his stats since joining Lyon. He got off to a good start in the first 2 seasons, but in the last 3 seasons he's only had 1 good season.

Maybe stop gap is the wrong phrase to use. I meant someone like Dembele isn't going to take us the next level, he's more of another body up front, no worse or better than what we have just a solid alternative who'd need to be upgraded at some point in the future. Weather that is by Duran surpassing him or us spending big on an upgrade. But we have a gap in the team left by Ings, and it needs filled.

He's 26 and has a good reputation in Europe, he wouldn't be that difficult to shift after 18 or 24 months. We just sold a 30-year-old on £120k for £15m, there will always be desperate teams looking a striker. And who knows, he might actually be worth keeping. In which case, we can sell Watkins.

Guendouzi and Dembele, would be happy enough with that. Although it would mean not getting the winger Emery is said to have wanted, unless we add a 3rd.
