  1. I would be doubtful that there is no release clause in that new contract.
  2. I fancy us to win this.... narrowly. Emery is superior to Potter, he'll out manage him on the day. 2-1 Villa.
  3. Not play for a club Southgate hates?
  4. I thought he only played left side at Sevilla because Kounde played right? Carlos is right footed so I would assume he'd play on the right with Mings on the left, but he could also play left with Konsa on the right.
  5. Yeah, 4 games as it's his second red of the season.
  6. Players in Spain don't have release clauses, they have buyout clauses, as the players are required to buy out their contract. Even if the increase in his buyout clause is true if they get promoted, and it doubles, it doesn't mean that's how much it would cost for Las Palmas to sell their player.
  7. Hope Duran gets more minutes in this game, could do with a physical presence up front vs. their defenders.

    Unai Emery

Hope he’s given the funds in the summer to improve the starting XI. There is a good foundation there, but we’re lacking those couple players to allow us to see games out.
  9. Any reason why Saka wasn’t sent off for that tackle? Don’t think we’d have conceded 3 in the 2nd half if they had 10 men.
  10. Missed the second half, deary me. What happened?
  11. Most likely. Great thing about Emery is the system is fluid, the initial shape will change as the game goes
  12. I trust Don Emery. But I feel this isn’t the game for Coutinho. He has no pace (which we’ll need as we will likely be counter attacking), and Arsenal press (so he won’t have time on the ball). I hope I’m wrong, but think Coutinho will have a mare today.
  13. It's more than just an opinion though, three managers now have thought he's not ready for the Prem. Why do you think that is? Do you think they just decided we aren't going to give this kid a chance just because?
  14. Vardy was 27, Toney was 25 and Ollie was 24 when the first stepped up to the Premier League. Players who are about to enter or already in their peak years. Not remotely the same as Archer. Archer is simply not ready for the PL, why can people not accept this?
  15. I don't know, I'll leave that decision to Emery. If he felt he was ready he'd still be here.
  16. I don't think we have been in a position for a long time where we can drop a player in his prime and play a 20-year-old because he's scored a few goals in the championship. If Archer was ready to lead the line, he'd have replaced Watkins, he's not.
  17. Watkins is an all-round better player, hence why he's the preferred choice for three different managers. Ings was a better finisher than Watkins, if he couldn't start in front of ollie what makes you think Archer should?
  18. People don't like Liverpool because of their fans, not the club itself. Their fans are unbearable.
  19. Maybe we could change our logo to look like theirs, instead of that knight it could be John McGinn dressed as a turkey.
  20. Doesn't the owner of Watford also own Udinese and a Spanish team? Perhaps we'll see the likes of Archer, Tim etc go on loan there if they aren't ready for our first team t=rather than going back to the Championship.
  21. That's what I meant; Man City are the flagship team of City group. When I said City i meant City Group. I don't think necessarily this model will be followed and all teams will be rebranded with a Villa twist. The teams City group rebranded barely existed, so probably no objection to them changing their logo and kits. City Group have majority stakes in Troyes, Lommel, Palermo and Bahia and have not rebranded them. Vitoria have a 100-year history, I don't think we'll be meddling with that, especially not as a minority stake holder.
  22. City own majority stakes in most of those clubs though. I see this link as nothing more than a place we can send players on loan, and a way to increase our scouting range particularly in South America where Portuguese clubs are heavily involved. If they happen to find a good player, we might have first option on them. I think people are going a bit overboard.
  23. I look forward to adding Valencia of Spain, Vissel Kobe of Japan, Viktoria Plzen of Czech Republic, Venezia of Italy and Valenciennes of France.
  24. Technically Red Bull don't own Leipzig. German clubs have the 50 + 1 rule where members own the majority, the members of Leipzig just all happen to be Red Bull shareholders.
