Strange policy, always thought they had some of the best recruitment in the league.
The wheels look like they’re coming off a bit with Klopp, I remember that happening at Dortmund when Klopp was manager. Built a great team, and won trophies. But when his star players started leaving or declining, he couldn’t build a new team and fell behind Bayern. Seems to be repeating itself.
Not a chance, not with them looking to sell. If they don’t get new owners, I don’t think this seasons performance will be a one off.
VVD looks done, Salah will be off if they don’t get CL. They’re gonna go all out for Bellingham, but they need three Bellinghams to fix that midfield.
It’ll be great to be in a position where someone wants our manager, when was the last time that happened?
I don’t think he’ll leave us for another English club, think it would be hard for him to turn down Real, Barca or Atletico though, or maybe he’d fancy Italy after he’s took us as far as he can.
Can’t see Spurs improving much even with Conte leaving. The interim manager has been with Conte everywhere he’s been, will just be the same style of football, but not as good.
Mount will think himself above us, especially if Liverpool links are true, he'll end up at Newcastle, Liverpool or Spurs. Grealish has actually played a fair few games this season, he has more minutes than Mahrez and Foden in the PL this season.
Just goes to show what good coaching does. I had written him off under Gerrard, would have been happy enough to cash in on him. But he's proving all the doubters wrong, first choice striker for me next season if he keeps this form up.
We could be in a for a busy summer.
I'm sure the media will be doing the very best to try and sell our players, Watkins, Luiz, McGinn, Ramsey anyone playing well under Emery will probably be all subject to media speculation.
Not sure Chambers will leave, unless he asks to leave for first team football. He's a good utility player, can cover CB, RB and DM. Handy to have a player like that, Emery seems to bring him on most games.
The fact that we are even in the frame for Europe is a miracle itself, considering we wasted 13 games under you know who. Europe this season will be a bonus, but next season is where we gatecrach the party.
There is zero chance Emery leaves now for Chelsea, the chaotic running of that club wouldn't interest Emery.
And besides, even if Emery is being admired by other clubs, so should Marco Silva, Thomas Frank and De Zerbi, even Eddie Howe, why do we think they would poach Emery before them, Emery has been in the job for less time than all of them, so surely is least likely to leave anytime soon?
Now is the perfect time, the league is over for them. Only thing they have to play for is Champions League, sack Potter and go for someone like Naglesmann and try and win the CL?
Potter would be mad taking the job now, a relegation on his CV will not be a good look. He can wait to the end of the season, and have his pick of any of the bottom half teams that survive.
All depends on our next few games. If we get 6 points of Leicester and Forest, we are right in the mix, if we don't probably a top half will be as good as we can hope for, which given where we were when Emery took over, is a massive achievement.
