Can’t say I’ve watched a lot of Burnley this season, but is Kompany actually a good manager? Or is it just he’s got a massive advantage managing a team that got relegated from the PL, so is better than nearly everyone else?
The Chelsea model (to give it a name) is what we should be trying to emulate here. Hoover up all the best young talent in the midlands, train them up, they’re either good enough for us, or sell for pure profit.
Would love to see Coutinho get another few run outs before going in the Summer.
If he can contribute like he did the time he came off the bench against United for his debut, don't think many of us would complain.
Top scorer in Eredivise is only 13 goals so far, so 9 from Giménez isn't that bad.
Joint top scorer is Xavi Simons for PSV, was very highly rated coming through Barcelona before going to PSG. Only 19, seems to be tearing the Dutch league up. Will probably move in the summer, could be a long term upgrade on Buendia.
Thanks for posting the whole thing, but I've already read it. And again, it' doesn't state anywhere there that you can't have 10 English teams in Europe so not sure why you keep referring to it?
It is true. There could be up to 10 English teams in Europe.
If English teams win the CL, EL and EC and don't finish in the top 7 they would qualify for Europe because the won those competitions.
Chelsea and West Ham are not going to finish in top 7, if they won the CL and EC there would be 9 English teams in Europe next season.
Premier League website states:
“The winner of UEFA Europa Conference League is guaranteed a place in UEFA Europa League group stages. If a Premier League club win the UEFA Europa Conference League and do not qualify for the UEFA Europa League via the Premier League or the FA Cup, then they enter the UEFA Europa League group stages as an additional club”
My interpretation of that is the would enter the EL group stage and wouldn’t affect 5th or 6th place qualification from League. They could even be in the same group as an English club I think.
