I think the levels of our play are all intentional, all worked out in advance by Emery. We play just well enough to beat the opponent in front of us. So our level of play versus Forest will differ from the level of play versus Newcastle. Just trust Emery, he knows what he’s doing.
How are teams playing hoofball going to benefit our loan players? They’d get much more beneficial training playing for and against teams that pass the ball in tight spaces, something they will need to be able to do if they want to play for us.
The Europa League maybe, but I can’t imagine the any of the fan, club or players want to be in the Europa Conference. The stick they would get from a United fans alone wouldn’t be worth it.
Yes, the Championship is more competitive. But that doesn’t mean it’s a higher quality than the Portuguese top flight. But even if the bottom teams in Portugal are championship level, playing against the big Portuguese teams and European teams would be more beneficial than playing Rotherham or Hull every other week.
Add also that he knows Emery well, might just convince him. Seems to have hardly got a look in this season.
edit: seems he’s been injured this season. Even still, can’t see him breaking into that arsenal team
Primera Liga is a higher level than the Championship, and add European games to that. Would be good for his development to experience something different.
It’s not really about their style of play, just that Luiz has improved massively in the last couple years, no reason why JJ can’t. I had written Luiz off, and thought he wasn’t good enough for PL, thankfully I was completely wrong. No reason why JJ can’t also improve.
Brighton are 1 point behind us, they play Chelsea. Not overly confident Chelsea will get a result against them. We need to beat Newcastle otherwise Brighton will likely overtake us this weekend.
I’m hopping for fatigue from Brighton players due to fixture congestion, and hoping liverpool and their players don’t want Europa once CL is out of the equation.
