Liverpool going to appoint Jorg Schmadtke as Sporting Director, their 3rd in 12 months. Never heard of him, but seems quite mid for a club of Liverpool's size, only been at some mid tier German clubs, biggest being Wolfsburg. Signed some diamonds in the rough and sold them for decent money, not exactly what Liverpool need if they have any intention of rejoining Man City at the top.

Even if we don't go for Vlahovic (which I think is unlikely anyway), it shows the calibre of players the club want to go for. Joao Felix, Ferran Torres, Vlahovic and now Asensio, we're at least shopping in the right aisle.

For a former pro, Rio's football knowledge is completely embarrassing. Between him, and the likes of Owen, McManaman, Joe Cole etc. BT Sports has to have the absolute worst pundit line-up.

Lo Celso is predominantly an attacking midfielder; he doesn't play as deep as Luiz. Emery most often played him in the second striker position or in one of the wide roles cutting in.

My predictions for the run in. 5th - Liverpool - 71pts 6th - Spurs - 61 pts 7th - Villa - 60 pts 8th - Brighton - 58 pts We can even afford Brighton to get a draw against one of the top 3. Also, Liverpool might even pip United to 4th if they don’t get to 72 pts.
