  1. Hopefully back to being a midtable club where they belong
  2. Only time will tell, but Southampton had all that as well. Great youth system (Bale, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Luke Shaw). Finding diamonds in the rough and turning them into PL players (VVD, Mane, Lovren, Wanyama, Lallana, Hojberg). And lost good managers (Poch, Koeman). Unless Brighton offer better wages they will always lose their star players, and all it takes is a few duds replacing them.
  3. That’s the risk vs reward. At some point someone will beat the offside trap AND beat Martinez. But the amount of times that will happen in a season is minimal compared to the benefit we get from the high line.
  4. It’ll be the likes of Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and probably Kelvin Phillips starting. They aren’t staring a CL final no matter how good they play.
  5. I disagree, they won’t want to be picking up injuries and risk being unavailable for both. Also, Brentford are one of the few teams to have actually beat City in the league this season, they certainly are capable of doing it against (a second strength) City team again.
  6. I don't think Brentford are being delusional at all, they can quite realistically beat Spurs and a Man City team who'll already have won the league and be resting players for a possible CL final and FA Cup final.
  7. Brentford forum is confident they will get a result against both Spurs and City, and we lose to Liverpool would mean if both us and Spurs only pick up 1 point in last game, Brentford would leapfrog both us and SPurs on goal difference. Not an impossible scenario.
  8. Then they could be stuck with someone they don't want, another loan to Spain then i'd imagine.
  9. Depends on if Spurs feel he is not needed, they might be looking to offload him, I suppose they would have to wait for their new manager to decide that. But as others have said, Levy will try and over charge us for him, depends on how much Emery wants him.
  10. Well even if the links to us are bullshit, Emery has signed him twice before so he's obviously still a fan even if we sign him or not.

    Jhon Durán

Caicedo too, he went on loan too Belgium when he signed. Duran needs a loan, either to the Championship or abroad, possibly to Vitoria or some other league like Belgium or Netherlands.
  12. We should offer £3m + Keinan Davis
  13. I'm the same, if Unai wants him, i'm all for it. Also, wasn't Lo Celso a regular with Argentina? Missed the WC through injury I think.
  14. Seems quite versatile, which is something Emery loves.

    Arsenal

Not really surprising as they hired a Sporting Director as their manager, they finished 2nd and 3rd the previous seasons with largely the same squad as last season. For spending over £220m, they should be above Newcastle and Arsenal. If Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs weren't all having shit seasons, they wouldn't even be in the top 4.
  16. I agree with the logic in keeping him, but as you say his wages don't justify keeping him as a backup/rotation, same with Digne. Maybe if we get into Europe it would be worth it.

    Arsenal

I'm not sure he has. Has spent over £200m and will finish behind Arsenal and Newcastle.
  18. But if we didn't have the shit start under Gerrard, we wouldn't have sacked him when we did, and wouldn't have Emery when we did (or maybe even at all). And we wouldn't even be in the position we are now.
  19. But we got ourselves into a position where it was in our hands, all we had to do was match Spurs results, we failed to do that when Wolves beat us.
  20. I was massively surprised that Everton got anything at Brighton, and that Brighton got anything at Arsenal. Results like those are why the PL is the best league in the world, anyone can beat anyone on their day. The odds are against Leicester though, Liverpool are re-surgent, then there is the ref and VAR to overcome
  21. Luckily we have Alemany coming in so should hopefully get some decent sales, and with Heck coming in our commercial revenue should hopefully increase giving us more wiggle room under FFP.
  22. I'm hoping they'll be out of steam by the time they play us, and already have secured Europe.
  23. Not sure we would need both, maybe Gunedouzi isn't going to happen so Emery is going for someone he's signed before.
  24. Could also have West Ham in EL if they win the ECL as well.
