    Lukaku turned down £21m a year from Saudi Arabia, so i'd say the vast majority of players still want to play in the top Euro leagues and compete for the top prizes. Saudi can only attract players who've won it all and mercenaries.

    Sport is different, the majority of players want to win or at least compete in the best competitions. Nobody is moving to Saudi Arabia to try and win The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.

    I don't mind overpaying for someone like Diaby who will have re-sale value, considering we underpaid for Pau Torres, and got Tielemans on a free.

    No way around it unfortunately. Wingers and forwards are the most expensive players to sign usually. Diaby is under contract until 2025 and is highly rated, so they have no reason to sell now, and the fact the Saudi club are pushing up the price. I suspect that's why we are hearing links to Doku, probably just a red herring to put pressure on Leverkusen.

    That ship has sailed i'm afraid, Sporting are holding out for his release clause and have not reason to sell for less. I'd imagine it's why it's gone quite regarding him, likely we've pulled out a while ago.

    Rice is just a DM who has nowhere near the technical ability of say a Casemiro, Rodri or Busquets. Havertz was played out of position at Chelsea, I think he'll do well at Arsenal with the players he'll have around him.

    Shaping up to be a monumentally shit window for them, by their standards. All their rivals are strengthening, they'll be easily caught by a few teams if they don't add some quality, they looked a bit crap near the end of last season, only their good start got them over the line. This whole takeover is probably holding up transfers, would be hilarious if Glazers were still there when the window shuts

    Think it's 4 home grown players, only senior player that fits that criteria is Ramsey.

    I think we might be forced to keep him in the squad this season just for homegrown rule in Europe, even if Emery doesn't want him.
