Isn't Dendocker supposed to be going? Still fairly strong in that area with Kamara, Luiz, Tielemans and McGinn but maybe Emery feels we need a bit more.
One good match isn't going to change the doubters' minds. Buendia's problem isn't ability, it's consistency. If he plays like that 7 or 8 games in a row, then people might stop writing him off.
I have to disagree with you on this one @TRO
Some forwards are there to compliment a partner. Bergkamp at Arsenal as an example, he scored single figures some seasons, he was there to support Henry, who did all the scoring.
Plays for Rennes. I've not seen him play much, but he's very highly rated. Still a bit of a diamond in the rough, but there is potentially a world class player in there, if we believe the hype. Seems very injury prone, would be a major concern were he to sign.
I'll let Emery decide what profile we need as a second forward. But from what I've seen, Diaby is just that, a second forward. He's not a winger, no more than Salah and Saka are wingers, they operate on the right flank and cut in on their left to occupy the central positions. Diaby will be doing this for us.
Not sure I'd be keen on Felix now, regardless of ability, he's put himself in a very awkward position with those Barca comments. If we did sign him, what's to stop him downing tools in a couple of years to try and force a move somewhere else.
Haven't seen it mentioned in the thread, but Diaby was a youth player at PSG when Emery was in charge, the Don will already be quite familiar with him.
