Could they? I’d imagine if an English club came in for Kane the reported fee would go up. And besides, if he stays at Spurs they’ll get him for free next summer.
When did it become Olsens fault we lost to Stevenage? Wasn’t there 10 other players on the pitch? 9 after Donck got sent off. If we’re dropping players completely because of A freak result, then surly should be applied to all the players who played that game?
This is my thoughts also. It’s probably not a case that Emery likes him and wants to keep him, I’m sure he’s aware of his ability and he could get better. It’s just was never going to happen unless Olsen leaves. There has been absolutely no link’s regarding anyone being interested in him. It’s been obvious since the window open that he wasn’t going anywhere.
But it’s not really a discussion per se regards Olsen. It’s just a bizarre dislike towards him by most. It’s similar to Coutinho and Digne, there are people here that want them gone no matter what. Same with Olsen.
You’re probably right, it will happen… eventually. Just not this window. We’ve signed 3 quality players that genuinely improve us, we won’t be signing anymore of that calibre this window. Unless it’s a RB to compete with Cash.
Selling clubs can ask what they want, doesn’t mean the asking fees aren’t ridiculous for some of these player. And that was kind of my point, teams like United and Chelsea are stupid enough to pay them, we aren’t.
Good to see we won’t be held to ransom by these selling clubs like some others have. If we don’t get who we want for the price we’re offering, we move on. Trust in some Monchi magic.
Alemany: “We’re going to sell you”
Torres: “I don’t want to leave”
Alemany: “ We’ve accepted a bid from [insert club]”
Torres: “I’ve rejected their contract offer”
Alemany: “NOOOOOOOO, YOU CANT DO THAT.”
Its that simple.
But surely loaning him out endlessly until he runs his contract down and leaves for free is just as bad from a FFP perspective? At least this way his wages are gone.
