  1. Seen some made takes on the Newcastle forum, this one takes the cake: “They've got a better squad but we've got a better manager. Home advantage should tip things our way, but it'll be close.”
  2. The Premier League website says otherwise: "Qualification for the two other UEFA competitions, the Europa League and Europa Conference League, will follow the same protocols as in previous years, albeit if the fifth spot qualifies for the Champions League, the Europa League spot will go to the team finishing sixth." What’s new in 2023/24: Extra Champions League place (premierleague.com)
  3. Let's just shut the academy down shall we?
  4. I'm all for keeping our best players, but if we got an offer too good to decline then we'd be stupid not to sell. In the past this would have been a mistake and set us back, but now we have a coaching and recruitment team in place where I would be confident, we would find a replacement for whatever player left.
  5. Are they going to have a Caleb Chukwuemeka scenario after Mbappe leaves with his brother still there
  6. The longer these rumours hang about, the more likely it is they are bollocks.
  7. Fear not West Ham fans, you’re going to be okay, Danny Murphy says so. The man who said Emery wasn’t an upgrade on Gerrard couldn’t be wrong. Could he?
  8. Imagine being able to bring on Pau Torres and Tielemans to see out a game.
  9. He plays regular for Brazil, so while he may not be elite, he's clearly not absolute dogshite.
  10. They are genuinely going to have one of the worst midfields in the league if the sell Paqueta.
  11. Where is this going to leave Foden? Seems he can't get a game under Pep at the minute, we should stick in a cheeky loan bid with an option to buy
  12. There are people that literally make stuff up regarding Coutinho, that he's not arsed, here for a pay day etc. I'm sure they'll not complain if he scores a late winner in the ECL final.
  13. Sometimes players, even good players are sold for the benefit of the team. Ronaldo leaving Man U in 2009. Liverpool selling Coutinho allowed them to buy Allison and VVD and they went on to win the CL and PL.
  14. City also had 30%sell on clause with Porro, so perhaps they were content with that. They may not have wanted Porro back on their books in case they couldn't do a deal with Spurs.
  15. They didn'twant Luiz back, Porro no idea and Lavia clause doesn't kick in until next year.
  16. Watched some of their game with Barca. They looked good going forward, but they will be ripped to pieces at the back.
  17. Going to be more difficult for them to break into our team over the foreseeable as we improve, so deals like this make sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if Archer ends up being sold with a buy back clause, unless he really lays a claim this season.
  18. Yep 100%. We’ve failed in the past by loaning players out and just running their contracts down, or selling for peanuts. This way, we let another club beneath us take responsibility for developing them, then if their good enough they can come back, if not we’ve made profit already.
