I think this is a big point being overlooked. Is Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Caicedo an improvement on their past midfield three? Or have they just spent £165 net to stand still? -
100%, their players are system players. Now Caicedo might be good for them, but for £110m he'd need to be Patrick Viera or Yaya Toure levels of good.

Kovacic is multiple CL winner. Paqueta I've no idea but it's a bit of a stretch saying he's a PL known entity, he's been at West Ham for 12 months. McTominay and Maguire are garbage and you're forgetting United paid £80m for Maguire and is absolutely a flop for them. -

Liverpool are not an oil club, they don't have an unlimited money tree like City. If Caicedo flops it will set them back massively. -
As big as Liverpool are, they don't have the money backing of the oil teams. If Caicedo flops they are **** Will take them a while to recover.

I doubt Jamie Carragher will have many complaints about the price of the Caicedo signing -
Will be interesting to see if they have the squad depth to compete for top 4 and in the CL itself. They made a charge for top for last season because they weren't in Europe, I think their squad depth is still pretty poor for a CL team.

And what happens if Kane overtakes Shearer and then someone overtakes him? He'll have no record AND no titles. Let's not compare Kane to some Leicester squad players. If Bayern go onto win a CL, Kane will likely be one of their most important players and probably their top scorer that season.

Liverpool’s midfield this season is either going to be amazing, or completely terrible. Has a team ever completely overhauled their midfield in one go before? Usually you bring these players in gradually over a few seasons.

Are you saying you’d rather having some arbitrary goal record than winning a Champions League? Did you know Kane isn’t actually 2nd in the all time list? He’s actually 19th.
