  1. Good read, sounds like an exciting player. Like Rogers, defo someone whose value will increase under Emery.
  2. We've also been linked with a Soler/Baena type CM as well as Gallagher. So if Luiz does go, Iling-Junior and McKennie are not replacements, just added squad depth. The Luiz replacement will be signed after the Euros.
  3. For what it's worth, many Juve fans on Twitter think this deal is better for us than it is them. A lot of them value McKennie and Iling-Junior and don't want them to leave.
  4. He would be if he plays in the LM position, where Ramsey plays.
  5. This will be similar to the Rogers signing, Emery will turn him into a star. If Brighton or Palace were signing him, it would be hailed as an astute signing and we'd be moaning why we don;t sign players like this.
  6. There's your mistake there. Football clubs don't use transfermarkt's made up valuations to value their player.
  7. We've played with three centre backs most of last season, so Iling-Junior at LWB makes a lot of sense.
  8. They're worth whatever we or anyone is willing to pay.
  9. It isn't just £20m though, it's also the value of the players included.
  10. That wasn't what he was suggesting. Iling-Junior can play as a very attacking wing back (like a left sided Frimpong), not as a full back like Digne. He could be utilised in the LM position with a defensive FB behind him (Hermoso? Mings?). Or we could be switching to a back 3 with wing backs.
  11. I agree, I can see our play evolving in a different direction.

    Chelsea

Chelsea back in for Olise apparently, I guess they’re using the money from the hotel sale
  13. Mateja Kežman came from the dutch league and he is one of PL's worst ever strikers. Luis Suarez came from the dutch league and is one of the PL's best ever strikers. Jozy Altidore came from the dutch league and he is one of PL's worst ever strikers. Bit of a mixed bag from that league, just because one player was great doesn't mean another will be, they've mostly been flops bar a few exceptions.
  14. One of the biggest flops in PL history, yet barely mentioned.
  15. Not even remotely comparable to our situation with Luiz, didn't he fall out with Pep? Our situation would be like City being told they have to sell KDB for PSR.
  16. The stories also contradict each other. Uk news saying we need to sell for PSR (which usually always has a picture of Luiz in the article), and Italian news saying Juve want to low ball us for Luiz in a swap deal. If we needed to sell for PSR, why would we do a player swap deal? Wouldn’t it make more sense just to get money up front?
  17. Go and read their threads during the Gerrard era.
  18. What if the players we bring in to replace them then become our best players? Before Emery, most of us would have been happy enough to sell Konsa, Luiz, Mginn or Watkins. Emery has taken them to another level, no reason to believe he won’t do that with whom ever replaces them.
  19. They’re also supposedly going to activate Zirkzee release clause of €40m
  20. 1 - He’s a bit part player 2 - Loan 3 - He plays for City, there isn’t another club in England on their level. Anywhere he goes will be a step down. Why not his boyhood club who are now in the CL
  21. These valuations are genuinely laughable. McKennie and Arthur are barely worth €20m for both of them combined
  22. Why are people arguing if Potter or De Zerbi was more unknown?
  23. People who watch Serie A
