A third of the first team doesn’t need replaced. Ramsey and Moreno will be back in a few weeks. Zaniolo is coming In hopefully, and doubtful Buendia would even start most games if Ramsey is fit. Mings is the biggest loss though, but we have three top defenders.

I said something similar to this in the match thread. Take Tripper, Joelinton and Almiron out of that Newcastle team and then Botman mid game, at full strength at Villa Park we’d batter them.

It was a disappointing result, but some perspective is needed. Newcastle we’re better, they were at home, they were at full strength whereas we have injuries. Imagine if the tables weee turned. It’s at Villa Park, we’re full strength, and Newcastle had Tripper, Almiron, Joelinton out injured, then lost Botman in the match. I think we’d spank them as well.

New these lot was the worst fixture we could have had to start. Emery will fix it. We have Everton and Burnley next, 6 points from 9 ain’t the worst start.
