I think you're right. Ansu Fati is on £230,000 a week, about £12,000,000 a year, over 5 years about £60,000,000, with £50,000,000 transfer fee on top. There is no way we are spending over £100,000,000+ on Ansu Fati
I don't see why we wouldn't keep selling academy players. Once they hit that 20/21 age, if they haven't broken into the first team (or look like they will) they will be sold, with buy back clauses for an FFP boost like we've seen.
Agree with the incomings, a striker, right back and a left back if Digne leaves. Think we are light at LM with Buendia out, Ramsey will be back and McGinn can fill in, but I wouldn't be relaying on Coutinho in that position. Zaniolo/Diaby/Bailey could possibly play there, but they are better further forward.
It was the same setup he used at Villarreal, and he had 4 centre forwards and 4 wide players for the front two positions.
If we have to play Diaby up front instead of Watkins for whatever reason, then we don't have Diaby to play where Diaby plays.
Buendia is out for the season, so no point discussing him.
Coutinho possibly, but he could be injured for a while and might be sold. Ramsey, could probably play there in an emergency but his position is on the left. Tielemans, no.
It's not, really.
In his final full season at Villarreal when they made it to the semi-final of the Champions League, he had 4 recognised centre-forwards: Nicolas Jackson, Boulaye Dia, Gerard Moreno and Paco Alacer. As well as those 4 he had: Yeremy Pino, Chukwueze, Danjuma and Moi Gomez. In total 8 attackers
We have 2 recognised centre forwards: Watkins and Duran. As well as wider forwards: Diaby, Bailey and Traore. Only 5 attackers. We are a bit light up front IMO.
We could do with another wide player and a centre forward.
Edit: Forgot Zaniolo so 6.
No idea who, but I think Monchi and Emery will be working on something.
All those players you've mentioned, we have been linked with ages ago, and some have flat out rejected us. I can't see us wasting time and energy courting players who don't want to be here. We'll have moved on ages ago.
Not Ings obviously. Someone who better fits our system. I'm sure Emery and Monchi will know of such players. Probably someone in La Liga, like Borja Iglesias or Gerard Moreno.
