I hope not, Poch left Southampton at the first opportunity, and they sold their best players once they got a half decent offers. I could be wrong, but seems like we are building something here, something much closer to what Spurs done rather that what Southampton done.

Had a gander at the United forum, thread on who they want to replace Ten Hag. Only scrolled a few pages, but Emery wasn't mentioned, Hansi Flick is a popular choice amongst them.

A RB is a must for me. Nothing wrong with Cash, I think he's a decent player, but his back up is a centre back. We need competition for places, so either an improvement on Cash, or a younger RB to come in and push him for starts.

I look at Emery with us the same as when Spurs had Poch. He transformed Spurs into a club that could compete at the top, we are on a similar trajectory. He was constantly linked with United during that time, but Spurs had the money and ambition to keep him, so do we with Emery.

All the talk of Emery to United is driven by TalkShite. I've had to mute them on twitter because every single tweet they put out is about Emery and United. Doens't matter who United get in if the sack Ten Hag, the outcome will be the same. Rinse repeat.

How times have changed. United under SAF and Chelsea under Abramovich were able to sign players from anyone in the league within reason.

No unless they finish 3rd in their groups and get demoted to competitions below (us excluded of course). You get the same points for getting to Europa League final as you do the Champions League final. Man Utd and Newcastle could finish 3rd and play in Europa League. Brighton at risk unless they start picking up points, but if they finish 3rd and they are in Europa Conference.
