I’m just waiting on the inevitable “this is our worst performance so far under Emery” message that pops up in all these match threads if we aren’t playing like prime Barcelona.

I get that, but that’s not Lenglet’s fault.

No chance they do that at home, fans won’t have it. They’ll come out of the blocks from kick off to try and score early.

The General FFP /PSR / SCR Financial Regs Thread
duke313 replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
They still won the league, whilst remaining compliant to FFP. Man Utd, Liverpool and other revenue giants weren’t helped by FFP that season -

Leicester exist, yes? We’re currently sitting in 2nd despite FFP rules, with a good chance of finishing top 4.. -

The General FFP /PSR / SCR Financial Regs Thread
duke313 replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
But without FFP you’re just swapping United and Liverpool and their massive revenues for Newcastle and whatever other club is selected for sportswashing and their oil rich owners deep pockets. What’s the difference? -

The General FFP /PSR / SCR Financial Regs Thread
duke313 replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
The alternative is no FFP and Newcastle spending £6 billion on players with no restrictions. Two oil state runs clubs battling for titles, while the rest of us get into more and more debt trying to keep up. -
The General FFP /PSR / SCR Financial Regs Thread

I love how you’re mad there are FFP rules in place, and then also mad at City for trying to get around those same rules. You can’t really be mad at both -

Sounds like Traore and Chambers are surplus to requirements, if they leave nobody will be coming in to replace them. Anybody else leaves though they will be replaced. Sounds like Emery is happy with the squad unless some backups leave.

If Dendoncker leaves, would like us to look at Argentinian Guido Rodríguez of Real Betis, available for free in the summer, or possibly a low fee this month. Linked with Atletico and Milan.

The General FFP /PSR / SCR Financial Regs Thread
duke313 replied to Marka Ragnos's topic in Other Football
Sterling, Jesus and Zinchecnko all first team players sold to rivals and replaced with Haaland, Akanji and Alvarez. Selling those three at the time looked like bad business, but looks good now. City also have made over £400m from academy player sales in the time Pep has managed them, absolutely massive from an FFP perspective. You can see why we have started something similar under Monchi. -
How is that a good thing for us? The longer Newcastle are held back the better. As rich as our owners are, we aren't outspending oil backed state sponsored sports washing clubs.

Without FFP, City, Chelsea and United would have been able to spend even more money than they already have. So would make no difference.

This is the main reason for their current circumstances. They have made about £60m from players sales the last 3 seasons, we have roughly £200m from sales in same period. People wonder why City can spend so much, they have made over £300m from players sales in same period.
