He doesn't need to be like Dendoncker, he (ideally) needs to be like Kamara. If we don't sign a DM and Tim remains at the club, Emery obviously see's him being able to cover one of the positions in the pivot.
We won't know how good he is unless we play him.
Dendoncker has barely played this season. As others have said if Tim can't cover the minimal minutes that Dendoncker would have played, then he's not cut out for this level.
Will Boro bow to pressure from the player, who I'd imagine wants the deal to go through? Probably be our only other signing of the window if it goes through.
Not sure why people are surprised we haven't signed anyone for this window, Premier League teams have spent a grand total of £37m. Pretty much every team is in the same boat, teams are scared to get on the wrong side of FFP.
A signing that wouldn’t really make sense at the minute. He’s not a Dendoncker replacement, more of a McGinn/Tielemams type. Was probably on a list of players we were interested in the summer in signing, but ended up not going for and now some journalists have got the info.
Didn't he use us to sign a new contract when Smith was in charge?
Anyway, it's a no from me for Smith-Rowe, overpriced, overrated english player who's also injury prone. We could probably get someone from La Liga just as good if not better for a fraction of the price.
I'm sure there is a fee we're not prepared to go above. I wonder would Boro be interested in a fee + player swap, Hause or Chambers or somebody to get them off the book as well.
