The price of the sale is irreverent. Just need to get Randy out ASAP. I'm at the "anyone is better than Randy" stage now.

We just need an enthused owner Randy isn't but still threw money at us. New owner can kick start us massively.

Do we actually believe the £60m figure or the fact that Pat Murphy would know the actual figure? I don't.  No journalist knows the exact terms of any deal. Some are saying £100m, some £75m and now we have £60m.

I think Pats saying it'll be a lower initial fee with a lump if we go up. I think this was muted a few weeks ago. I'd say this is the tricky negotiation point if true. Nearly all saying end of week so Friday if a listed company for stock exchange? Sunday at latest for an individual?

  3. If we are at the fit and proper persons test stage has anybody got a clue how long that takes??? Neil Moxley is confident it'll be sorted this week and he's a Villa fan aswell so wouldn't make stuff up.

  4. The most important thing to take from the Comoli stuff is he actually gets deals done!! Our failure to do any business in January basically relegated us then. If he comes in it must mean there's money available so at least we'll be in for an interesting time.

    You're wrong.

Having watched every home game this season, bar one, one thing I always notice is that he does a lot of work up and down the wing. To the point that he often becomes one of our main attacking outlets, because he's always so far forward (often much further forward than our midfielders or other fullbacks attempt to go).

The odd clip of him looking lazy isn't going to change my mind that he's been one of the main players this year to not embarrass us with a complete and consistent lack of trying.

Out of interest how many chances has he created?? He can't defend and never sets up anything as he either runs into a dead end then falls over looking for a foul or balloons a cross over. Then he trots back. It never helped him having Gil in front of him for long periods but we need a new RB desperately.

  6. I thought Rodgers would be going back to Swansea but now their manager has signed a new deal would he come into it?? I'd have him and think getting sacked may actually bring him down a peg and make him a better manager. I know he'd be wanting a PL team but how many PL jobs will be available this summer?! I don't think that many. Maybe Watford seeing as they look like getting rid of Flores. I'd even have him more out of nostalgia than anything. The last time we went down we got the Watford manager and did alright!!

Yeah I know all that - that's why I said 'future' and why I thought it might well be a sticking point.  I have heard several times that Lerner was holding out for some form of future cut in lieu of a lower price.  Not for a minute saying anything in it, just speculating what the 'small print' might be and why it could cause people to pull out.

He hasnt the desire to turn us into a PL club again so needs to sell. He could easily keep a % to try to claim money back later but can't see it myself. He wants out. Trying to gain £20m could cost him a lot more!!

Should play left wing for us in the championship.

He's a left back if he can't do that in the Championship he'll never be one!! I actually thought he was good for us there a few mistakes but in the few games he played a lot more positives.

I suppose Amavi's situation would be an example of where it works well for the player. Assuming there was no release clause, or drop in wages for the player after relegation, you have a player that now has little option but to play in the Championship next season. He's only played a handful of games and we have no evidence of what condition he's returned to the playing field in, so not many clubs will be queuing up to pay £9m+ to take him off our hands. On the other hand, he's the type of player we would want to keep if we're looking to bounce back at the first attempt, but he's on a full PL wage - which we may not be able to afford.

    No one really wins.

I'm not saying Amavi wants a move away, just using his scenario as an example. FWIW, it would be poor form from the player if we've covered his wages for the whole season only in exchange for a few games, only to see him leave for another club. Having said that, this is his career so you couldn't blame him, but I'd like to think he'd be part of the fight to get us back into the Premier League.

I think the proving his fitness part maybe the reason he stays and we might get lucky but I can see his agent trying to get him a move.

Wonder if the small print is Randys insistence on a future cut of TV money I keep hearing about ??

What TV money? We are a Championship club they don't get anything!! A new owner wouldn't give away potential future revenue streams!!

Pearson it is then. Rebuilt a fallen team, got them promoted and Ranieri won the league with the backroom staff, the squad he built and the close season form they found.

    ;)

I just want them in ASAP as there's a lot of work to be done

Not really. Garde had no experience in the league. Sherwood was a decent appointment. I had no issue with us hiring him when we did. He saved us from relegation last season, but got exposed this season. We needed an Allardyce type after Sherwood. Di Matteo has managed clubs in england, and has years of experience in the championship and premier league. Seems like the perfect appointment if you ask me.

He hasn't got years of experience though! 1 full season at Mk Dons 1 full season at WBA. All the others he's sacked or left before a full season completed.

  13. RDM has only completed a season twice! His longest in a job was Albion. Is he what we need? We need a manager who experienced at building football clubs as we are a shambles. He won the Champions League with AVB's team which just need helping along we need a complete rebuild. I don't think he is right for us or that good a manager.

What are the odds on RL using bidders to up the price so hard that they all cancel their interest and we're left with RL, Krulak, SH (instructed to cut costs) EB as manager, Gaby club/team captain leading the attack?

    None what so ever

  15. I think we have the manager sorted and probably the owner but one will follow the other or the pressers would just be about the takeover not the manager. As long as everyone is in place by the start of preseason We will be fine. I'd like it a lot sooner and think the manager will meet the players next week before they disappear so he can tell the ones he doesn't want that they're off!!! This is why I think a takeover is close so it'll all happen rapidly next week!!

Agreed, Suliman looks to have outgrown u21 football in my opinion, we have reason for optimism though I think. There are some really brilliant young players in that youth team, whether they are good enough for our first team remains to be seen

For years we've been under pressure and not played the kids hopefully we can be a top team next year and they can grow in a winning side. A good solid Championship season for a few will get them top loans when we come up or they'll be fighting for our team in the PL.   We just need a confident manager who trusts them.

Thanks very much, I think kinsella is out of contract after the Newcastle, you wouldn't play Green or Suliman? They are the 2 best prospects in my opinion

I think Jack and Adama are ahead of Green thought about Suliman as RCB but to have Toner and Kinsella in there maybe too much. If we had 2 decent FB's I'd play Toner and Suliman but we don't. I think Suliman could be back up for RCB next year. He needs to be tested above u21 level regular so a loan may be better to start.

    What about the others?

I'd start Lyden and Sarkic aswell to be fair and if Black insist on a 3 at the back I'd play Kinella so something like

Sarkic Kinsella Toner Clark Lescott Bacuna Lyden Westwood Gana Ayew Murphy

we lose we lose but just have a go I'd drop Bacuna straight away if a better RB option the same goes for Lescott on the right side of defence!

I think that as well.  At first I was thinking sod it, but slowly get drawn back in. I actually think next year will be more exciting for supporters as we should be competing and winning more games.  Like you say, if we get bought we will sell quite a few.

Actually winning games at home will be a big bonus!!!

  21. I think you'll be surprised at the amount of current season ticket holders who renew. I think we'll have roughly the same amount as this year once all done. That'll be beaten easily if we get bought.
