If he is still here after the window RDM needs to have a long chat with him. He needs to perform to get a move so he has knuckle down and play we should be in a win win situation.

Adomah starring in, player who uses other clubs vague interest to get better deal... Shocker!
i think tony is possible pretty naive and getting played by clubs and agents
We seem to have a scattergun approach, putting out more feelers than jimmy Saville on speed (too soon?)
Scattergun? We are after specific areas. As a Champioship club you have to send out a lot more feelers to find out if players are willing to drop down. The Adomah link hasn't come from us but more than likely leaked by his agent which you state is provably to get a better deal. This window because we. Are active we are the easy target to link players too. If Hernandez comes it's because we persued him all summer but as long as we get a striker in I'll be happy regardless if its our 10th choice just as long as it's a good one.

I would love for Bamford to come here- I've admired him from a distance for some time now and really believe he has the ability to go all the way to the top- I suspect your right and he's holding out for an offer from the prem- if this doesn't materialise, could we still get him in the loan window anyway?
Admire from a distance?? Have you got a restraining order in place or something? I think he's off to Burnley but he'd be a good signing unfortunately there isn't a loan window anymore. Another stupid UEFA change. It was the perfect thing to stop lower league clubs overloading on players they can't afford. It would've been good for us especially to get unhappy PL players in after the windo closed.

The who and the team name were mentioned in the thread that made you ask.
There is no who in age.
All of our creative options wouldn't lie with him, McCormack makes a fair few chances, for one.
He's scored 4 goals in 54 games. He isn't worth anywhere near the money you've said. In future I'll google any random names you come up with. How did he do on FM any good?

The who is pretty well self-explanatory.
The why is because he is a pretty productive player, who at 18, is mature enough to be made team captain. Right now we'd get him for 10-12 million euros, next year he'll cost 30 million.
Who as in age, nationality etc No chance we'd spend that much on an 18yo who all our creative options would rely on. I'll google him now and if his YouTube vids are any good I'll change my mind.

I asked myself the same thing. I don't have twitter but this is what was tweeted:
"Chris never officially on board especially with these rumors we won't make more confusions. Banfill is legal advisor"
"No more rumors! Chris and the Socfin helped the takeover and we paid for service. Never was related to Recon!"
According to Companies House, Samuleson was appointed director at Recon Sports LTD on 20 July. His appointment was then terminted on 8 August. (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10176070/filing-history).
As I've said before, I trust the Doc and I don't think there's something fishy about his ownership. But on this point regarding Samuelsons involvment, his tweets are simply not correct. It's unfortunate as it nourishes conspiracy theories.
Xia never says he wasn't on the board. He says "officially" on the board This could've been the way he got paid or anything. He isn't under any obligation to answer to tweets from people who initially called him a fraud and a front. Socfin have facilitated a few takeovers and as far as it seems regardless of being a board member or not that fits in exactly the timescale of events. It's hard for Xia to explain everything in 140 letters and for me he doesn't have to.

Apparently I have to be a season ticket holder to get Villa cash.
I think you can join it separately ST holders get it with ST.

Anything written fro a Reading perspective is tainted. Samuelson left weeks ago. Most thought he was just a facilitator and that seems to have panned out correct.

I phoned the ticket office the other day to enquire about buying tickets for the Forest game for me my dad and daughter, as I am the only one in my family with a booking history so couldn't buy online. They informed me that the tickets would not be going on general sale for this match, so I guess Seatwave will be your only chance to buy tickets for that match.
I think if you join the Villa Cash thing it'll help you get tickets.

I don't understand the clamour for spending big on those players. It's classic "we're linked with them, so they're great".
I'm fairly confident barely anyone (if, indeed, anyone) on this forum watched much (if any) of Jonathan Kodjia's first and only season in English football and have no idea what type of striker he is - bar watching obligatory YouTube highlight videos. What makes him so great?
(This isn't aimed at you Gary, but you mentioned them :D)
You'd like to think the club has watched more than YouTube videos but as fans we can only really go off of clips and stats in general. We haven't got a striker like Kodija big, mobile and athletic and it's exactly what we need. The same goes for Hernandez. Both would be an improvement on Gestede. Fees this summer are crazy but you have to get them in. I hadn't seen much of any of our signings this summer but all of them have impressed so far and I fully expect DeLaet and Jedinak to improve the team further so if we are linked and actually bid for players im confident they'll be worth the money and improve the team. Had you seen much of the players we've signed so far?
-
We've needed a RB all summer RDM wanted De Laet but LCFC messed about with the deal. We were then linked to Yedlin and De Laet got rushed through.
We've needed a CF all summer it seems it's Hernandez RDM wants but Hull are messing about. We are now linked with Valencia. What's the chances of Hernandez being done soon?
Naming a secondary target to push deals through happens all the time and it seems we are learning and doing it ourselves. I hope this is the case anyway!!!

If Gestede is injured then expect to see Ayew up top and Bacuna on the right with De Laet coming in.
I'd be happy with that! Especially away from home. Kozak showed he isn't good enough.

Will Adama leave? If he doesn't I'd still look to get a wide midfielder /winger in. We need more creativity and pace. A bit like Adama to be fair just more of a rounded team player. I'd also loan in Bamford aswell as buying the no9. Games come thick and fast and we need a big squad.

Oooooh yes he did
There's plenty of ways of reading into what he said but I think it was more that we don't want ageing or mercenary footballers like those that go to China. That's why he said maybe when it's China Villa. Either way it'd rule out Martinez who's on mega money.

'Come on, maybe in time'
If Tony feels that a 38yr old Drogba is to rich for us, its difficult to imagine that Jackson Martinez isn't.
No he never.

Seeing as Dr X said it normally takes 2 weeks to sort out visa/work permit issues we might be looking closer to home than some of the suggestions on here! Just a thought...
How do you think clubs do transfers on the last day? Work permits can be sorted quicker. As long as you register the player with the FA they're clear once paperwork is in place. No point in rushing Jedinaks once Saturday's games deadline had gone. It'd be nice to hVe the CF in place for Saturday but as long as we get one I'll wait till the end of the window.

Well there was a routine take v Derby where he punched - another where he punched and was fortunate to be given a free kick.
I just don't feel he inspires much confidence and feel there is a 'Mare' waiting to happen. Time will tell I suppose.
He didn't concede. He cleared the box both times. Most keepers punch the ball these days. Last season at Leicester Guzan flapped at a ball they scored and came from 2 down and we never recovered. Gollini throws his body in regardless. The one where you say he was lucky to get a free kick even if he never he'd cleared the ball so it wasn't an issue. He's young and will only get better he has made 2 slight errors so far and got the maximum punishment which he hasn't repeated after. He's learning. I glad he's our no1

Problem is though... Ayew McCormack Gestede Grealish.. should be better than our current 4 goals in 4 games. We just dont seem to be creating chances at the moment. McCormack hasnt had too many.. We need a creative link in midfield.
Having a more mobile CF than Gestede will on its own create more space for the others to play. This will help them create more chances We aren't taking enough of those chances but as for creating them have you watched us recently? We always look like scoring and are getting better at creating. Hopefully we keep adding to the squad. I'd want a wide creative player and a CF to replace Gestede. The best thing is RDM seems to know what we need and I think we'll get them in.

Gestede should be Plan C. He hasn't any movement. If we have others lined up better sell him. We are desperate for a mobile no 9. If we had that McCormack would get more space and be a bigger threat. I understand using Rudy as a battering ram but that should be a last resort. He has all the attributes to be a very good striker but he isn't mobile or nasty enough.

Personally i think having Rudy this season is going to be vital. Why would we want to replace a proven championship goalscorer?
To get a better proven premier league scorer?

Under Lerner we kept making losses so had to be wary of FFP. Now we have a new owner we get 12months grace I think then we'll start having to worry about it again. Ultimately though if we don't get up in the next 2 years we are in trouble.
