The fox commentator for the Iceland game said that we are keen on selling him on after not playing in the playoff final. Not sure how he would get that info though

My opinion on VAR has flipped after seeing how it has been implemented. I think it has been a good thing and hopefully some elements of the game (shirt pulling in the box during set pieces especially) will start to be called more but that hasn't been the case since the Croatia/Nigeria game (iirc). The main problem that will likely never be solved is that every ref will have a different view of the same incident. Also think that going to VAR so far is a guarantee for the decision to be changed (don't remember a call that stayed the same after a review).

i heard somewhere that he didn't make any saves in the two prior games and finally made one in this game. it was pretty much even imo until the second goal then Uruguay seemed to just take over

mistake from the keeper for the first goal. Also thought the two cards for the Russian right back were a bit harsh considering that bentacur? has had like 3/4 similar fouls and hasn't been booked iirc. You do have to say that Russia is finally playing a decent team and has been outplayed.

Finally finished up 3 weeks split up between Budapest/Bratislava/Vienna. Had a brilliant time, and will get around to posting more about it soon.

There are a lot of things and places to see throughout the southern US. The downside is that many of the places to see are very long drives from each other. Just depends on what kinds of things y'all want to actually see. I would recommend Nashville though.
