If we're after a striker I would rather sign Tammy (or another young striker) permanently than sign Benteke.
Either way, striker shouldn't be a priority in January compared to our other positions.
I agree and hope we can get Heaton as i think he ticks all the boxes. Just throwing out other names should Burnley not want to send him (apparently they are considering selling Pope as well).
Heaton would be a really good shout for the rest of the season, but looking long term I saw that Man City were looking at an American keeper Zach Steffan. Might be worth it to look at him as well (pretty young and was apparently in really good form this past season.
Get in another center half (or 2) and a LB as well and I'd wager we would be flirting with promotion come the end of the season.
I wish I could say I'm surprised, but nothing surprises me with the US "Soccer" federation
(Not really MLS related but the word is we're going to hire the Columbus coach for the national team.
Ah okay thanks. So the winners from the each group in the respective 4 leagues are drawn into the Semi Finals against each the top teams from the other 3 groups? Interesting way of doing qualifying
Somehow the Ukraine v Czech Republic game was on ESPN so I tuned in. Ukraine looked pretty decent and won their group (so i guess they have qualified for Euros or something?).
Even with the hiccups that are showing and will become apparent, I like the way of trying to give lesser talented nations matches against similar ranked sides.
There haven't been any quotes on this, but I'd have to guess that the Canadian Top division would have to be involved as the 2026 World Cup has been said to be a motivating factor behind this idea.
