  1. Thought I'd bring this over to this thread. But seeing as he's a SHA fan, don't think there is going to be a link there. Also don't think he's going to be a massive upgrade on Targett either.
  2. I'd also throw in a few others: Fedor Chalov Adolfo Gaich (think we were linked with him last summer, moved to CSKA Moscow this summer) Berardi (though he is more of a winger) Volland (just went to Monaco for around 11m) Weghorst Iheanacho (I'm not particularly keen on him, but would rather him over Wilson) Edouard (would probably be my #1 target) Would also echo Maxi Gomez as well
  3. we just don't have a starting position available for him in the XI and i just don't think he is good enough for us to be spending that roughly 20m to upgrade over Hause. Also his injury/fitness record isn't going to help his cause. yep. I've watched him a few times and can definitely see the potential with him (though I wouldn't be surprised if he got a loan out for regular first team depending on how well they are doing by Jan). pretty highly rated on fifa/fm as well. Also just found this link where it says he is already going through the coaching badges. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/hes-only-19but-leeds-united-starlet-jamie-shackleton-already-targeting-uefa-coaching-licence-244402
  4. Was also going to say this. At £10m I would've been fine with it, but doubling it plus I'm assuming hefty wages (probably be our highest earner) makes me very concerned.
  5. My main issue with Wilson is that he's torn both his ACL's. So I'd be pretty worried about injury history.
  6. just curious, but has it been standard for Villa to not officially announce youth signings? I see a mixed response from team to team
  7. I think if he's the only striker we bring in this summer we will massively struggle (and I like him as a player).
  8. The one i've seen is pretty full of quotes saying his price should be around £40-50 mil Some I've seen
  9. Its very interesting. Definitely more desirable than us at the moment (wages, PL status being relatively secure, and high profile manager) but there's not many players in that Everton squad that I would want at Villa.
  10. Blimey, I mentioned him a while ago because I saw that both him and his twin brother were going to cost a combined £20-25 mil. There are absolute value bargains and snipes out there, which is why I am surprised at those we are continually being rumored at looking at thru the overpriced Championship market
  11. This type of thinking is what gets republicans elected to national office. Whilst I think saying that the difference is between understanding things and not would be pretty disrespectful to 'middle America'. They just have a vastly different way of life to those of us who live in suburban areas. I grew up right outside DC and then went to college in very rural southern VA. Just the difference in way of life and how people acted was astounding.
  12. Nixon again speculating that we could be spending about 100 mil again
  13. the quotes from the article make me think that he is firmly looked upon by southgate as a "winger" and not an out and out midfielder. Which is bad for Jack's England hopes because he isn't an out and out winger. Agreed with your last point, that even if Jack moved to United, he's not going to be playing out wide 100% of the time and that just hurts his chances.
  14. this is interesting. Could this actually work to scupper any Man United interest?
  15. Woah if this is actually true. End of an era potentially
  16. Edouard Batshuayi Origi in that order
  17. Do you think that Struijk is enough cover personally? According to wiki he's only played 5 senior games with you.... seems pretty risky. I mean we have 4 senior center backs for villa and there's talk about adding to the room (and that doesn't include u-23 guys). And with Berardi, that is definitely a shame. Didn't it happen in the Derby game?
  18. They're after Robin Koch, a center back from Freiburg. Would assume that goes through as Ben White won't. I actually caught a bit of their Athletic writer talking about Bielsa and his style — side note, he seems miles better than our current one . Apparently many have felt like they have needed another center back since he's been there and he came out and publicly said they didn't. If that's the case, they would be screwed as they only would have 2 center backs. (he's fine with Luke Ayling, a RB, as cover for there which i think is ridiculous).
  19. So CBS now has the CL rights over here. The team of analysts they have on the broadcast is Jamie Carragher, Roberto Martinez (he has a lot of analyst gigs), and Micah Richards. With Jenas on commentary
