  1. I think weve lost Eames...he was a good man...he was...my friend.
  2. All your credibility has gone mate if you think Sir Ron came from the B-lose! - I think the OP meant Peter Withe #getyoutfactsright #werenotontwitternowsononeedforthehashtagthingy
  3. With a shit team, no it doesnt make him a bad manager. If someone took over at Spurs now and got them relegated then that would constitute a bad manager. Brings us back to the whole, who is best...McLeish or Martinez? The table doesnt lie, yet everyone want Martinez.
  4. Eh?? He got them promotion from the championship and then got sacked halfway through his first season in the prem. AM gets Blues promoted from championship and leads them to a 9th placed finish and a cup, yet he did a worse job there than Hughton did at Newcastle? Cant have it both ways mate. You give Hughton credit for promotion from championship but cant give it to Mcleish for better achievements. Is it just because hes ginger? Superb point. The prosecution rests. At the end of the day, AM never had a cat in hells chance of winning the fans over. You only have to look through this thread to see that. The are poster on this site that will never warm to AM regardless of what he achieves.
  5. redknapp had a track record of relegation And? He also had a decent record at Pompey and has a track record of playing good attacking football and bringing through the youth. Bringing through the youth? No he doesnt!
  6. 1. AMs past...... when you have 200 Villa fans breaking into Villa Park live on SSN chanting "We Don't Want McLeish" it shows there is a problem. When on camera the guy interviewed says "It a'int about the blouse" when he has "SOTC" written on both sleeves and across his chest you become suspicious about peoples motives. There are too many fans motivated by a hatred of a nothing club that play in a cow shed rather than a desire to support their own team. Which I find pathetic. After all, if we refused to take on ex-blousers we wouldn't have won the European Cup. 2. Style of football..... like I said... workmanlike. Makes the best of what he's got and what he can get hold of. The one thing MON is outstanding at is getting average players to play like world class ones. AM does not have that ability. We are at our true level. Dunne makes mistakes, and for what ever reason he doesn't seem to fancy Cuellar. Thats fine. I trust him. He's got the coaching badges not me. We sold our two best players over the summer and have not replaced them so we were never ever going to move forward. 3. His record.... YES he steered the blues down... twice. They have always yo-yo'd up and down the divisions. You can't polish a turd. They are shite. They will always be shite whoevers in charge. Hughton getting them back up is not an achievement when they are one of the richest clubs in the Championship with a stack or parachute payments. BUT he took that shower of shite to a Carling Cup Final and won it. MON didn't manage to do that. 4. The fans.... the fans not believing AM will go anywhere IS problem. Not AM himself. He hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip and as I said in my OP he needs time to put his mark on the squad, and given that Randy clearly isn't handing out the levels of cash MON enjoyed that will take time. The players at home look shit scared because every mistake they make the crowd turns on them and AM. (See point 1) If walked into my office and told my staff that everyone thinks they are shit and pounce on every mistake with a barrage of abuse, my team wouldn't perform. Its the same thing here at Villa Park. Having paid £10m in compensation to MON and GH plus back room staff, AM is here for the duration of his contract whether the fans like it or not. My suggestion? Get over it. Support your team. Stop the booing and the moaning. Cracking post. Spot on mate.
  7. Bollocks! - it his his style (or lack of it) and his record is poor in both results and transfers Its not bollocks Denis! I didnt say it was the only reason, just the main reason. Please, enlighten me on what is so poor with his style of play? And before you answer, the whole long-ball hoof thing...that is bollocks!
  8. As Richard Keys would say - "There are dark forces at work here"
  9. He gained a huge amount of respect from me for just having the balls to take the job in the first place. He's done nothing wrong for me, and as you and Eames say, regardless of if people wish to admit it or not, the main reason for their dislike is the Blues connection.
  10. Because you **** love a good row! I too dont know why even bother?
  11. I dont avoid answering...i just cant be arsed. I dont honestly give a flying **** what names or acronyms people give him. I just personally think the whole "ginger bollocks"..."McShit" etc etc. stuff is pathetic.
  12. Because you dont like him or because you dont think he is good enough?
  13. **** hell, that sounds like a multiple bone shaker in your mouth!!!!
  14. i never said it was :idiot: So why are you calling him a ginger word removed then? Is the name calling all a little immature?
  15. As much as i hate to admit it, i think Harry Redknapp would be an excellent choice as the next England boss.
  16. Well my first thoughts (if true etc) are: Randy is a decent guy, yeah maybe he doesn't have the money to cope running us and the other team. But he's still a nice guy, what better to end a 'legacy' (and one that I will always reminisce positively about) than giving the fans something back. After all he knows we're playing rubbish, so he wants to 'treat' the fans in a 'cheaper' way. He's trying to get the fans on side after his horrific choice of manager. Not the actions of someone about to sell IMO. Lets not kid ourselves and think he didnt know what was going to happen when he appoint McLeish, he knew full well that it would cause a shitstorm among the fans.
  17. So are you suggesting he gone back on his decision and is once again going to splash the cash? I'm suggesting the Qatar rumours are rubbish. If I were selling my business I wouldn't give my customers a gift. Yeah, but thats just because your a mean old fuddy duddy*! :winkold: *I have no idea how old you are!
  18. So are you suggesting he gone back on his decision and is once again going to splash the cash?
  19. The lazy **** in my office, instead of putting dirty cups, spoons and cutlery in the dishwasher, they just leave them on the worktop directly above it.
  20. Any news on the takeover yet? Or has this all been dismissed as utter tosh?
  21. Went from 24 down to 19.9 last year, which i was really chuffed about. 15 or 16 is the aim for this time next year. My short game, especially my putting, lets me down. It's strange, i actually feel more confident/comfortable playing in from 100-130 yards than i do from 20-30 yards, i tend to "quit" on the shorter shots instead of accelerating through the ball. At least you know what you are doing wrong. For mid to high handicappers nearly all of duffed short shots are due to the club head speed through the ball. It's a confidence thing, take a shorter back swing but make sure you accelerate the club through the ball at all times. But thats the frustrating part mate, i know exactly what im doing wrong. Like you say, its all about confidence. The same with my putting, i dont struggle reading the greens or seeing the "brakes", just with my distance control, 5 foot short one hole then 5 foot past the next. Ive actually got a short game/putting lesson booked for tomorrow so hopefully that can iron out a few things and maybe save me 1 or 2 shots a round.
  22. I was West Midlands gymnastic champion 2 years running when i was 8-10 years years old, the same year i was named county footballer of the year. I was asked to take up gymnastics full time which would have meant training more or less every day of the week and knocking football on the head...i chose football. I spent time at couple of schools of excellance (including nutmegging Jermaine Pennant when he was at Notts County) but was never good enough. Ended up playing in the Midlands Alliance then knocking football on the head all together. Maybe i should have chose gymnastics.
