  1. Me too, i wouldnt be at all worried if those two started against West Ham on the opening day. Yes, i would like a bit more experienced centre half brought in to play alongside Clark, but if we start with those two then im happy with that. They will only improve with the more games they play.
  2. Yep, i think his best days are long gone. 32 and fast approaching 33. He needs to be replaced imo. I would love to see Clark partner a strong blocker/ball winning centre half as we know Clark is very comfortable with the ball at his feet. I also think Baker will turn out to be a cracking centre half. Clark as one of the 1st choice centre backs to start the season imo.
  3. Like, an uprising...never a lowrising! Or an assault on a army base...never an aspepper! A hot-rod...not a cold-rod!
  4. Also fanny. Look at that bit of fanny. This place is full of fanny. I love this game!
  5. Fallen club ? From where this is Proberley there most sustained time in the top flight Big club ? Since when Does CI stand for clueless idiot ? There are not the power in football that they once were, but they still are a massive club, a global brand.
  6. Yeah, but if you saw a load of sheep in a field, you would still say "look at those magnificant sheep" Im pretty sure you would still say buffalo's.
  7. Dempsey is still a cracking player, even at 29 he would be a massive signing for anyone outside the top 4.
  8. I think we all agree that he wouldnt move from Fulham to Villa as he has proven he is ready for a crack at the big time. People can still speculate and live in hope!
  9. Random thought of the day. 1 sheep on its own is called a sheep. 20 sheep in a group are stilled sheep...not sheeps. Is there any other example of this in the animal kingdom? Im struggling to think of any.
  10. In his defence, the 1st season he was never at 1 point 100% fully fit. And to be fair to the lad, i though last season he was impressive and fully deserved his player of the year award. If he continues to improve next season he could be a big player for us. Anyway, looks like Dempsey is going to Liverpool....this makes me very very very sad indeed!
  11. No mate, i dont think people are comparing the two as in who was better (saying that, that 1 seaon for Man City i would say Ireland was at least on a par with what what Ashley Young ever was for us, but thats another debate). Like 8pints says, we are just saying that Ireland has the potential to be our most influential player as Young once was.
  12. On my second at the moment, soon to be third.
  13. Good to here that Lambert is a fan of Clark's, he is certainly a captain in waiting imo, but i think it may just be a little too soon. He's still young and has time on his side. Also good to hear that Lambert is looking to play him as a centre half, which is his best position by a country mile. Im a massive fan of Clark and think he will go far in the game. Still think Ireland should get the armband as he has the potential to influence the game the most. People saying Bent, but what happens when we play the Man Utd's or Man City's of the league and we are getting dominated for large percentages of the game? He may not touch the ball for 5-10 minutes at a time, do you really want you skipper stood on the half way line with his hands on hips not being involved in play?
  14. Not sure what my wife has to do with this, or what the **** your talking about.
  15. mesmerized by that freekick Thats insane!!!!
  16. Who do you suggest? I think it should be our most influential player...which potentially is Ireland.
  17. You've gotta love the bloke!!!
  18. Does that mean you'd be Ok with Anton Ferdinand and Wayne Bridge ? I dont rate them as players, but they go up in my estimation for making Terry look like an arsehole!
  19. I'd be all for Carroll tbh. I really rate him as a player...and anyone who makes John Terry look like an arsehole is a bit of a hero in my view!
  20. His personal life aside for the moment, i think the armband could be exactly what is needed to see him produce his best football again. Not that an armband should be needed for him to do it, but if we can get him back to his best, then Christ, what a player we've got on our hands!!!
  21. The kid was young and maybe he just didnt want the whole world to know that his wife had just misscarried? That is what he said as to why he did it and he has since said it was stupid and a mistake. Micah Richards, Michael Carrick, Peter Crouch & Ben Foster are a couple that spring to mind that have declared themselves unavailable for selection to the national team. He doesnt want to play for his country, thats his choice...its not a crime is it? And as for the shisha pipe...your really telling me thats bringing his lifestyle and his attitude into question? :? It's not against the law and it was outside the season. There are loads of players who smoke, Rooney, Torres, Berbatov, Buffon, Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge, Balotelli...believe it or not, even the great Messi has been caught with a fag in his mouth.
  22. I still cant understand where this "Ireland is a nut job" and "his reputation/attitude has been called into question" comes from? It is quite frankly horse shit! Wasnt it Stephen Ireland who hired a personal trainer during the off season to maintain/improve his fitness levels for the season ahead? We have heard numerous times that Stephen Ireland is one of the best trainers at the club (both Man City & with us). And comparing him to Barton or Balotelli couldnt be any wider of the mark.
