  1. Mate, dont even get them started, it's madness! See, although I dont necessarily agree, I can sympathise with those who doubt we could attract him, but anyone questioning whether he'd be good for us is somewhat missing the point. He would probably be the biggest appointment this club has ever made, Moustapha Salifou included. Nothing to do with if we could or couldnt attract him, just down right that he is not the right man for the job. Reasons being he has only ever worked with table topping teams, world class stars and various other strange points. Probably best we avoid Mourinho aswell then Wig. Relegation would surely becon!

  4. No. Apparently he's the wrong manager for what we need at the minute. Also he's only ever managed table topping teams so he wouldnt have a scooby doo what to do at a mid-table team like Villa. *i know it sounds stupid, but thats what ive been up against allday mate!
  5. But we are an average premier league team who finish between 7th and 10th. :|
  6. He has never done a good job either. A draw specialist. Your like a broken record of negativity.
  7. Rubbish, Ancelotti is one of the best managers in Europe. Ive got to ask how you know he could do the job we require better than Hughes or Moyes? Ancelotti has had the benefit of managing great sides. Look at his time at Milan - they start off as a great team that was going through the motions, he comes in makes a couple of changes end up winning a league under him with a team in it's prime, then it starts to chug a bit and they became a very good side that won cups and stuttered in the league. By the end of his time there Milan had had enough of him - he struggles to change sides once he gets things working. The legacy of his time there is a team slightly past it's best. Even his Chelsea side, facing troubles this season, he struggled with, Chelsea this season regularly looking pretty average and him seemingly clueless as what to do about it. At one point he had Drogba playing right wing. I'm not saying he's a bad manager whatsoever. I'm saying he's a manager of top sides. He's little experience of management in the doldrums - he took a side to a promotion 16 years ago, and he took over Parma when they had some genuine (world) class in their side to surprising heights, but that's it. And Italy is different to here. The vast proportion of his time as a manager is with title chasing sides in Italy, I don't see him coming to Aston Villa and being a huge success (and saying that I wouldn't see Mourinho doing it either, not at the moment). I wouldn't be upset in the extremely unlikely event we did get him, but I don't think he's a magic key to us being successful, as I really don't think it's a job his style would cut him out for. was that before or after his assistant manager was sacked by the chairman without ancellottis say so? or before 50 million was spunked by the chairman on a forward that the manager didnt pick? just checking because just from memory, im sure chelsea were looking pretty good up to those points, i also seem to recall them doing rather well the previous season? this season just gone with wilkins and ancellotti they won 7 out of 9 a 1-0 to man city and a 0-0 with villa the only none maximum points they scored 27 goals in those 9 games and conceded 2 so an average points per game of 2.4444 per game they got a further 59 points over the remaining 29 games, an average of 2.034 points per game a huge drop Very well said. The whole idea of Ancelotti not being good for us is if im honest bonkers.
  8. Avast I be defiant till' the end! Please teach me type like that.
  9. I genuinely don't think he's the right man for scrapping in midtable in the Prem at least (and arguably perhaps any league - he's done it once with Parma, but that was a Parma side that had some top players in it - Buffon for a start). If we were a top side, cruising with no issues, he'd do well, steady the ship and lead it to good things until things had to change drastically. But for a side that needs work, a fair amount of work, and isn't up there in terms of quality throughout the side, I really think he'd struggle to get far. It's not his bag imo. Rubbish, Ancelotti is one of the best managers in Europe. Ive got to ask how you know he could do the job we require better than Hughes or Moyes? Reputation means nothing else chairman would be appointing them on it all the time and no new managers would come through. It's about who is most suited for the job. Have you see his record of bringing through youth players? He's trying to win the Premier League and Champions League for God's sake, he's going to go with his best team week in week out, if the kids arnt good enough they dont play. Reputations mean nothing you say?? One name my friend, Gerard Houllier. And for what its worth, Kakuta, McEachran and Jeffrey Brouma all made Chelsea league debuts under Ancelotti. They had plenty of chances to play, I'm not talking week in week out, just cameos when 3-0 up etc... go and ask any Chelsea fan. McEachren has been criminally underused and Kakuta was sent out on loan to the wrong club. Bruma is now going to HSV on loan as he couldn't get a game. I'm not just talking about Chelsea either, its been the same in all his jobs. You really think Lerner appointed Houllier based on his reputation? You're wrong. Why did he appoint him then if it wasnt his reputation? Good at blow jobs? Good at chess?

  12. I still cant get over people saying Ancelotti is the wrong man for the job!?!?! :bonk:
  13. I think we would be attractive to him, i also agree that he is exactly what we need at the moment.
  14. Why do you say that? Because none of them will take us forward.. What have they done at previous clubs? What legacy did they build? Wheres the up to date modern style of football taking the Premiership by storm from Everton? Moyes has had plenty of time to instill a winning formula..Yet its static..The same with Hughes, wheres his modern day football team which he created thats taking the league by storm? They are BOTH managers that "just survive" they "just get by" in the Premiership.. Neither have layed down a furmula or method. Your answer will now be MONEY... Which is exactly the type of managers they are...They both need money to compete at the top.. Now look a Wenger, he aint great but you can see an idea of him building a style, an image of football in his mind and players are gelled into it. A manager is not just about getting a few £££'s and building a team to play a season.. Its about building a style from the top to bottom to survive without the need of continuous investment(where we just cant compete)... Ive mentioned on other threads; "We need to adapt a Barca approach" "Why are Porto,Lille etc growing" Its not just money... We need a top coach with a modern vision..Deschamps is the man I suggest, as he seems to be the up and coming guy atm to transform a club into his image without mass funding.. Thats a very good response and i agree with 90% of it. All i would say is that the type of club you wish for takes time, Villa fans are impatient. We need to be settled as a upper-middle club first on the brink of top 4 or 5, this is where i think a mangaer like Hughes/Moyes/Coyle/Ancelotti would get us too, then you could look for a coach to 'style' the team. First we need to steady the ship because at the moment its about to capsize.
  15. Moyes>>>Hughes for me. Wholeheartedly agree with the first part though - but then that's nothing new with some of the mentals that lark around. I dont think there is much in it between the 2 and i would be happy with either.
  16. Ancelotti would be a dream appointment, i still cant get my head around some saying he wouldnt be right for the job!? I think i would prefer Hughes over Moyes.
  17. Tis true. Unfortunately, I am not sure that he has much experience of buying any players. Abramovich at Chelsea, Berlusconi & Galliano (sic) at Milan. That is what worries me with Ancelotti. Neither does he bring through youth. Neither does he build up clubs. He is a manager that works at the top with good squads and players. He will be lost at Villa where he has to balance the wages or work on a budget. This just sums up how deluded this forum gets at times. Now Ancelotti isnt good enough for us!?!? farily clear you havent got a clue about football these past few days Care to expand on that a little...
  18. Dont get me wrong, he hasnt conducted himself correctly. Although saying that, would people rather he came out and said "yes, im 100% staying" then **** off 1 month later? He's keeping his options open and i would rather him be honest with the club and the fans. Just makes me laugh people saying they will be happy when he goes!?!? He is a quality footballer, I'll be gutted if he goes BTW..(just saying it before next part) I think he's handled it badly because of how 'happy' he was here and how he wanted to repay the faith, then 2 weeks later, he wants to go. To be honest, whatever he says, it doesn't matter, he wants to go and that thought process annoys me. Had he said "100% happy" and then left ...it would piss me off, if he said "want to leave" and left...it would also piss me off. I just feel he owes us at least another year. Could have come out, declared he wanted to play Champions League, in those big games but felt he owed Villa at least another year of football because the faith they showed in me ...and then come 12 months, if Villa hadn't pushed on, then you can accept someone like that wanting to leave....but to me, it's just too soon, I guess you shouldn't expect any loyalty in football these days but he's had 1 full season and now wants to **** off. Just not good enough for me. See my other post mate.
  19. He's putting himself in the ship window because he wants a move. People need to stop taking these things personally. Downing does not give a flying **** about me, you or Aston Villa. He cares about pound notes and trophies.
