With the character that AM has shown, what with moving accross the city and the stick he has took, you really think AM is a 'yes' man!?!? There is no way on this earth AM will be told who to pick in his teams.

Right my take on it, i think that AM likes him as a player, and desperatly wants to use him in his team and find that player we all know is in there somewhere. AM is using every opportunity to give him minutes on the pitch, regardless of how he plays, he just needs as much game time as possible before the season starts. Stephen Ireland himself said all that he needs is minutes on the pitch and a run of games, which AM is giving him. He hasnt really kicked a ball in anger for the last 12 months and is understandably rusty. Like AM said in his post match interview, its not the result thats important, its the fitness levels. I think we will see AM play his strongest possible team against Braga, and i full expect Ireland to feature. You may well see a different player when he is amongst our best 11. For what its worth, i think AM is doing the same thing with Fabian Delph.

What a complete load of rubbish! He played 30 minutes against Walsall and an hour against Chelsea. The 30 minutes he played against Walsall, he was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. And for the hour he played against Chelsea, he was the only one doing the closing down.

This! I think he'll be great for us this season and will silence a lot of critics! This is just wishful thinking, with all due respect. All the evidence so far suggests he will offer us very little. And what evidence would that be?

I really want Ireland to be a star this season...mainly just to piss all the negative doubters off!!!

He was pissed off i guess because the game just passed him by, he couldnt get on the ball because we were not playing the ball to feet.

I don't know why you are confident they will work out, both of them really could go either way. Ireland has only had one good season in this league a number of years ago and Delph is yet to show he can make a step up from League 1. I'm hoping they will come good but it is not definite they will. I suppose it's just a gut feeling really, we all know that Ireland can do it, and i think we've seen enough in Delph to show us that he has the potential to be quality. Neither have played more than a hand full of games for us in the last year, so i think until both have had a run of games we cant really pass judgement.

Ireland will come good, lets not forget he has only played about 200 minutes of football in the last 7 or 8 months.

Some of he dribble that gets spouted on here is embarrassing! Lets not forget Chelsea have played 6 matches against our 3.

Yeah ive those stories too mate. Thats what happens when you give a party loving 18 or 19 year old lad millions and he then has a bad injury and cant do nothing for 18 months. Probably did it out of bordom or pissed off because of the injuries. If he can get back to where he was, well...he can achieve what he wants in the game imo. Seriously talented young man.

Looks like Sven has pulled off a good piece of business by signing Michael Johnson on a season long loan for Leicester from Man City. If he can keep him fit and get him in a bit of form, he will have a very good player for the season who should breeze through that league.
