What would you expect him to say?

We haven't been on the stock market for a long time. We are privately owned by Randy Lerner's company AFAIK This 4% thing must be a vanity purchase then. If it was a takeover then they could just buy Randy's 96% without informing anyone then purchase the other 4% whenever. Am I right? The remaining share holders would have to be told about any sale, if he owns 100% he doesnt have to tell anyone. Why else would you be bothered about a remaining 4% stake in the club?

Exactly, on the face of it there seems no logical reason why he would do it. As you say there is no benefit to Lerner in buying the remaining 4% if he wasnt going to sell the club or take it off the stockmarket. Coincidence? No smoke without fire and some things do seem to add up, so maybe...just maybe there is some truth in all this. it's possible he wants to sell the club without actually telling anyone how much he got for it. this would allow him to do that right? So im led to believe, otherwise the remaining 4% would have to be notified of a possible sale, sale values etc etc.

He brought everyone of the remaining 4% and no-one had a choice about it. 96% at the time of takeover, leaving 4%, which as Jimmy say's on the other page, were brought up about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Why is the question? That remaining 4% would hold no value to Lerner, why do it now? As i said, the only reason i can think of is that it would be so he can take the club of the stockmarket or sell the club with out telling the world.

Wrong Denis, Randy Lerner brought 96% at the time of purchase...your shares would have been included in this percentage being as you had a certificate. There was a remaining 4% which was outstanding which he brought towards the end of November. Once he owns 100% he can remove the club from the stock market.

Selling the name of the stadium a la Man City... Didnt Randy own a 96% stake of the shares before he recently brought the remaining 4%? So that he didnt have to reveal the sale to anyone (including the stockmarket) before a sale? Just a thought...

Why did Randy forcibly buy back the shares sold to supporters? To increase his sale value? Other than that, those shares have no value to Randy at all!?!?

To be fair to the bloke, he actually talks about it in depth and makes sense... He's not suggesting they will throw £200m at the team.* *And im not suggesting this is 100% a go'er!

Just beyond the realms of plausability Why is it? The same could have been said about Man City 5 years ago. Im not saying that for 1 minute its going to happen and i believe the bloke, im just saying that it shouldnt just be dismissed as bullshit because it doesnt seem plausible. Agreed. I would think our infrastructure is as good if not better than Citeh. - Great training ground already in place. - Only large club (realistcially) in between Manchester and London clubs, so great catchment if we get it right. - We own our own very good ground with scope for further development. - Decent youth set up. - Good airport nearby. - Within easy reach of London. Like you say, the infrastructure for a top club is there, so we would be an attractive proposition for a big investment. Very little spent in the summer, very little to be spent in January, not forking out money he doesnt need to as the new owner(s) will do their own thing next summer? Maybe...just maybe, there could be something in it.

If Randy has the club at heart and is truely a fan (i mean he has a Villa tattoo), can he not see what is happening to the club? Can he not hear the fans voices? Does he not wnat what is right for our club? -
I'll reserve judgement as its on a piss poor forum but interesting if true and for me at least not all surprising. ...Interesting indeed. Against my better judgement I didn't dismiss this straight away. What's depressing though is that I find myself wanting it to be true. Oh what a wonderful game football is. Im surprised this hasnt had more attention paid to it? Not beyond the realms of possibility. The only thing which doesn't really add up IMO is why Big Eck got a 3 year deal if this was Randy's plan. Just had a look back through, and he doesnt state when the contact was made with Villa, maybe after Eck was appointed?

Hopefully 2 heavy defeats against Arsenal & Chelsea might just be enough to get him the boot. Ive never backed against my team but its a sacrifice i think a few of us would be willing to make. Enough is enough, if we need to lose the next 4 or 5 in order to get him out...then so be it! :| -
