  1. nope just reading a little bit about Toast of London in the 'paper no tv on a sunday afternoon here telly might go on about 7 or 8 this evening - about the same time as my headphones will be produced and applied
  2. Matt Berry. Matt Berry cheers me up. He's funny.
  3. Stef, I changed career path and my complete social circle aged 25. Caused some serious rifts with friends, put me back financially and set me off on a career I had no paper qualifications for. At the time the obvious advice was that this was a dumb move and I'd have less spending money and lose some good friends I'd had since school and college. I don't regret a day of it. But have the chat on Monday and then go away and have a few sleeps on it. If you still feel the same having said it out loud to the head and you still feel the same next weekend then go and do what you want to do. You know what, if in 6 months time it turns out it was a mistake, that's no big deal. Swap again. No point in spending the next 40 years in a job you don't like or the next 50 years wondering 'what if'.
  4. perhaps it was a bloke? I always insist on seeing foof before I even start buying the drinks. If the Morocco '98 trip taught me anything, it was see the foof first.

  6. I think it used to be pampas grass on the doorstep or in the garden that got the doorbell ringing.
  7. not strictly relevant, but shows we are still some way from this being straightforward Virgin Space Crash Virgin SpaceShipTwo crashes after 'in-flight anomaly' 6 minutes ago Virgin Galactic says that its SpaceShipTwo space tourism craft has suffered an "in-flight anomaly". The craft was being tested in the Mojave Desert region of California. Virgin Galactic said it would issue a fuller statement shortly. Local police said they were responding to reports of a crash in Cantil. SpaceShipTwo is carried by a special jet and released, before igniting its rocket to go into sub-orbit and return as a glider.

  9. Ballantine's whisky is currently £16 in Waitrose - if you can find a bottle in stock. Just bagged two as a couple of presents for people. Probably one of the finest blends out there.
  10. I have dropped the back seats out of the car, removed the spare wheel and generally stripped it down to max the volume. Then, I've meticulously lined it with plastic sheet. Now I'm off to the recycling centre to load up with free compost. If I have any sort of accident or bump on the way back, it ain't gonna be pretty. If I get stopped on the way to the farm, I'll have to just pretend I'm a serial killer between appointments.
  11. I don't get hang overs - I think I've only ever had 3 or 4 headaches in my entire life. But if I drink too much I'll be sick or get a bad stomach. But no ratio of booze to water will influence hangovers.
  12. once you work out that the 'candidates' have been hand picked specifically because they are idiots, misfits and psychos that make for mildly entertaining telly, the whole premise kind of falls apart to actually select level headed broadly competent candidates would make for some pretty dull TV it's nice to sit at home with biscuit crumbs on your belly shelf and sneer at younger less able clearings in the woods
  13. a day off today, took the opportunity to select a replacement office mug after yesterday's awful events representin' the people's republic of Barrybados
  14. There are people in Liverpool already planning a memorial concert and a statue.
  15. my Spillers mug gutted just didn't see this one happening, it's knocked me back a bit
  16. to be fair, that's quite a good one of me not that many photo's exist, due to my undercover work that I can't talk about (I'm the one with a big flake sticking out of his head)
  17. this is wot Donnie will be like in 40 years time
  18. I'd prefer points on the board as I seriously doubt any number of straight defeats would cause a resignation or a sacking. 6, 8 or 10 straight defeats would only lead to the eventual rumour of action from Randy. Depending on the strength of bile from the fans at games that action will manifest itself as a written statement. That statement will be some enigmatic management double speak about how we are all hurting and we all love the Villa and we are to stick with it as a big thing is on the way very soon. Another 3 games on and that big thing will be next year's season ticket price is frozen if you buy early, or free little flags at the next game. Points please. I don't trust the club to act just because we keep losing.
  19. I really want to see The Daptone Super Soul Revue at some point. I keep managing to miss them though. Yep, I actually had Sharon Jones in Bristol as a gig I was going to, then I had funding issues...
  20. Had a similar thing this morning. Council were cleaning leaves off the pavement on my way in to work. I didn't know what to do so I just walk right up behind it and flashed. I got passed and then he followed me down the street.
