  1. The real answer is obviously that there's room for both. My missus had a new kindle delivered this weekend. Freakishly, she ordered it Friday evening and it arrived Saturday morning - with all her details and account pre loaded. Fair enough be impressive by delivering 10 or 11 hours after ordering, but to have also put her info on it in that time was quite impressive. We've also got towering bookcases of books - mostly geology and general science reference books and cheap paperback novels. The kids were amazed middle of last week to discover the contents of the Cambridge Encyclopedia that's been on the shelf for years. The interweb had gone down and they needed information on Denmark. They were amazed to find we had a book where it had a section on 'Denmark'. As they said at the time, 'How random is that!'
  2. I still read the VT gazette which, I have to say, Limpid is issuing less and less frequently. It's more satisfying to read a proper newsprint version and catch up on a few months of VT in one go, but it can sometimes leave me slightly behind the times. Still, I'm chuffed Lambert has signed the new contract.
  3. at what point do we tell him it was a Friday evening game? I bet he wishes it was now yep, that must have been a bit of a kick in the teeth right at the death there I feel for everyone that went tbh
  4. For clarity, are you still talking about the tories in your second statement? Where the super rich get to evade tax whilst enjoying the benefits of life in the UK without the mundane bother of funding the NHS, policing or street cleaning? I can see how it's tiresome to pay tax when in truth much of the time you are on your yacht or watching a play in New York. But without these tory donors paying their fair share, yes it is unfortunately its the less financially and geographically mobile that are forced to pay the tax or feel the cuts. It's also those middle tax paying folk that have to pay the tax to subsidise the wages of 'poor' people and their subsidised lifestyles working for the mega rich tax dodging corporations. Labour / Tory ping pong. Needs a new direction really, but not the yoghurt weavers or 1950's racists.
  5. as long as people think they can get an edge by **** somebody else over, there will be a tory voter
  6. Support the artist, buy your physical art legitimately from hyper warehouse dispensing hubs and lease the downloads from internet based international tax dodgers. **** the shopkeepers.
  7. I want to go on topic and read through some ratings and reactions. I just don't think it will do me any good and I'll start calling people names n stuff. I'll stick the headphones on and go somewhere funky.
  8. err, that's not me, no way... Had that very conversation last night, out for a meal with some people that simply didn't believe I don't watch TV hardly at all. At no point did they ask what my internet useage was like!
  9. 13 games to get 18+ points and score 25 goals no pressure we love you
  10. if it looks like we have a plan and players try to get forward and we have spirit - that will be a leap forward points on the board would be icing on the cake for today
  11. the BBC news version of the story last night was interesting first they made reference to a jihadi matchmaker website - which I'm sorry to say made me laugh out loud and repeat the phrase in faux american advertiser voice 'jihadi matchmaker .com' The second was the two scenarios the reporter spelt out, he said there were two possible outcomes, either 1, they would meet their husband to be, or 2 the 'worst case scenario', they would be killed by allied bombing. No sorry, I can think of a much worse worst case scenario for three girls heading for Syria than death by an unseen unheard big bomb.
  12. at what point do we tell him it was a Friday evening game?
  13. does this mean the zombies will be able to get off? now we'll see some trouble that'll make ISIS look like office paintballing

  16. Give her a chance - she's only just got the job! I had a mental picture of her returning from her first day to find her stereo, cat and futon in the garden.
  17. i.e. The Mad Bishop, Paddington Railway Station you have to anticipate needing a waz 7 minutes in advance
  18. The number of times I had to recite my Villa history back in the early 80's. But then I was a glory hunter from the get go apparently, too young to remember, but I was at a party in Stafford for promotion from the third division.
  19. ha ha! I took my man bits to the doctor's a few years ago (the end kept getting caught between my knees when I walked fast). On arrival it turned out the doctor was female and 40 ish. She asked if I was ok with a female doctor looking at my junk and I said 'yeah, you're a doctor, it's not like you're a normal woman'. She wasn't overly impressed with my logic and said somebody else might have found it mildly offensive. I decided to leave the conversation there rather than explain it was my attempt at an erection avoidance strategy.
  20. I see your loathing of a good song in 'up the junction' and I raise you Roxy Music 'Do The Strand'. I can see how it's very good, but I hate it with a passion.
  21. Plus it's Doris at the HSBC counter that has to sit there and listen to the customers complain about it all, because as everyone knows, you give Doris a piece of your mind and she'll pass it up the line to the Swiss boys and they'll stop it.
