  1. trying to watch Lincoln, which is proving a bit wordy so can't check properly, link below looks interesting: rich list don't know the website fivethirtyeight? anyway, whiskey, bombay mix, Lincoln....
  2. I keep it on the down low. I'm actually from Barry Island.
  3. Is it true that all people named chris in england are brain dead communists or work at Lidl? What about the ones in Wales? ssshhhhh! don't drag me into it!
  4. It's no excuse, none at all, but I think the 'reason' was the perceived creeping gentrification of a bit posh roughing it in the east end. A cafe selling expensive cereals as a niche market to appeal to hipsters middle class lifestyle chasers. According to many on social media, they had to go past Pret to get to this place. But left it untouched. This suggests to me they need Pret to be open Monday morning.
  5. Is it true all Swedish people have either been in a porno movie or in Abba?
  6. I think they want to ban it, not brand their own versions. What would they call it? RedMeat - something for everyone! they could go into competition against tory mince: RightPig - we've been in pork for years!
  7. Matthew Parris (famed neutral and ex tory MP), was quite vehement on BBC R4 this morning that there is no way a vegetarian can be or should be allowed to be a minister in charge of agriculture. So there you have it, you MUST eat meat if you want a political discussion on farming subsidy, on rural life, on EU quotas, on GM crops. You MUST eat meat. I presume that meat has to include pork? MUST eat pork, so no jews or muslims or vegetarians can hold this office. Pillock Matthew Parris then went on to say that journalists outing David Cameron as a pot smoking teenage posh boy was below the belt and against the good journalists code to squeal about someone's past private life! That bit made me laugh. Sorry, it was radio, so no quotes until it hits other media or appears on i-player. 'Broadcasting House' magazine programme 9:00am
  8. one of those mornings where you get your old 12"'s out
  9. So, what I've learnt today is, if you're shagging someone in Kidderminster there's every chance it's a relative of V4E.
  10. Breakfast outside in late September and nothing much to do today. Need to clean the car in advance of it's MOT tomorrow. Need to sort out the next stage of the new fish tank. Need to tidy up the house a little bit. Other than that, more coffee. A proper old school Sunday, a rarity. I might even put on a vaguely spiritually uplifting bit of vinyl. Praise the lord and pass the jam.
  11. that's plastic's Christmas present sorted, broccoli and a magnifying glass
  12. A few years back, my ex and I went to a wedding. We had a bit to drink and went back to the room, ready to sleep. Anyway. I wake up at 3am and she isn't there, I then hear a noise and go into the hotel bathroom, where I find her sat in the bath and doing a rowing motion (even moving forward and backwards). I laughed so much. Ex! She could keep up a decent stroke in her sleep and she's an ex!
  13. The company I work for has a Client we've just bought stand alone laptops for as a 'gift'. They are a big company with some odd security rules and all their I.T. is firewalled up to the point of being unusable in everyday life. As such they can't get on the interweb and can't use skype or 'join.me' or widex or any one of the hundreds of other sharing platforms. Its cheaper for us to get them booked in to a local hotel with stripped down laptops for half a day every week, than for us to travel to them and talk through stuff. Two or three hours travel, then a two or three hour meeting, then two or three hours travelling back was nonsense. It's a 3 year contract, the laptops will have paid for themselves in about 2 months.
  14. At the moment all EV cars do is push the pollution away from the end user. Currently one third of UK electricity is generated using coal. bahhh, that was supposed to include a quote from Darren
  15. I saw the post! Looks really good. I was trying to be funny, but only managed 'trying'. Have a good one.
  16. One pint down, have you started the conversation where you persuade her to drive back to the holiday cottage? So you can have a couple without worrying!
  17. Just for info., MMV is quite right, sandwich making is a boom industry here and it's very much a manual job. People cheerfully lining up for local news and magazine programmes to smile and tell us a robot can't spread tuna or distribute prawns like a person can.
  18. Surely not our Sepp man of the people as well!
  19. There's an argument that if you're having to work hard you don't have a very efficient process. You should work efficiently whether the job itself is hard or not. Not the other way around.
  20. Slightly more seriously. I do actually object to these ex-servicemen charities. In that the government has sent these people overseas to do our dirty work and doesn't then look after them properly. There should be no need for Help for Heroes and all the others. I think its a really poor reflection on the system we are running. There should be a level of support that stops soldiers with career inflicted problems and injuries ending up as some homeless nuisance on the streets. It's a shame on us. If we don't have the money for after care we shouldn't be sending people out there. Do it properly or sit down and shut up.
