  1. Does nobody in this **** thread just listen to Elton John or Olly Murs? Bunch of poseurs and gristle heads.
  2. Without wishing to bring football in to general chat, I do believe that our dear leader is so utterly incompetent that he would rather leave something to rot to nothing than sell it for less than he considers it to have once been worth. I bet he has a lock up somewhere with an old MG or Beetle in it. He wants to sell it for £15k and no offers, because that's how much it was valued at when he had it resprayed back in '98. It's mostly just rust and a rats nest now, but look at these pictures of when it was shiny!
  3. TV rights to Channel 5, Hello magazine to organize event security to make sure they have the front page exclusive. Don't forget us once you're famous. Let us know where you put the wedding present list and we'll send Limpid there to sort out something from VT.
  4. Have to be fair, it is very good, just played it through and really enjoyed it. Issue 2 will be £9.99 apparently, so I'll try and pick that up as well (Coltrane: Blue Train). But hey, back on the usual now...
  5. I remind myself that, one day, these might be the good old days.
  6. I'm not quite sure I follow that leap of logic? Cars can go faster than 70mph so therefore it's ok to imagine there's a 'fast lane'?
  7. It worries me that you think there is a 'fast lane'. But it does tie in with the rest of your post.
  8. I just asked someone in Asda where the jazz mags were.
  9. just a heads up Apparently this is in Asda at the moment and is supposed to be a good quality pressing?
  10. I'm sure JLR know what they are doing these days, but no more of these from today: I guess it'll have to be a G Wagen when I win the lottery then.
  11. Yeah, I was only being a dick. I spent years working out the dew point in building fabrics due to interstitial condensation! Then I spent years fixing other people's buildings that hadn't bothered to calculate where the dew point was. Happy days. It's a good idea.
  12. Yep, it's got a wiki page, must be science and therefore must be true.....except of course, the phaser gun used in Star Trek also has a wiki page and a three letter acro PBW particle beam weapon. There have always been snake oil salesmen, they just need to tweek the act every now and again to keep those that think they know stuff one step behind them. If I was a snake oil salesman in 2016 I'd do something similar: an 'invention' that looks really really simple with suspiciously few testable parts a bit of internet presence for those that think they are smart and do 'research' associate with a band wagon, right now, that has to be crowd funding you only need 24 hours of people sticking a couple of dollars into the pot and you've done well for yourself But yeah, I agree, looks superficially plausible that there is 'drinking air'.
  13. That's what I said, it's not true, I think we're agreeing with each other?
  14. Must be a scam, I might be stupid, but even I know you can't just get water from thin air.
  15. In theory, he'd be in a 'VP' wing or even a 'VP' dedicated prison. He would only be mixing with other old men that had done similar things. This would likely involve lots of gardening or looking after an aviary. As a VP, he could elect to be in solitary. If he was in a VP wing of a 'normal' prison, then it would be the ambition of many of the 'normal' prisoners to get at the VP's somehow and do some damage and become a 'hero'. But he's dead.
  16. @BOF I don't remember the exact score, but Mike wasn't the best, so a very good chance Holland took that one. I'll take a punt at something like a 15:10 win. Loser has to name a new team as we 'progress' through a tournament of an unspecified number of rounds. It would have involved a good bit of showboating, direct free kicks from the corner of the box and a great deal of self generated crowd noise on the scoring of a goal. proper football
  17. the challenge was getting the horse in the car
  18. No idea. The point was more about the incompatibility of billions of pounds worth of kit. The ship was due to be ready for 2014, then it was due to be fitted out by 2015, it's nearly ready - except the design has changed as they couldn't have the landing and take off spec they'd wanted to make it 'future proof'. It should be ready in 2018, at double the original cost estimate. It'll have helicopters, as the aircraft won't be ready. Future proof? Now the strategy is that by 2030 we think we might need something smaller, quicker, lighter as it turns out many of the conflicts we get involved in aren't against super powers! Who knew! So let's not let the military and the hawks and the experts and those that like big guns tell us what nukes we need. They appear to be cretins.
  19. ......with one that can land on our aircraft carrier due in 'about' 4 or 5 years time if there are no more delays - according to the Royal Navy.
  20. We're all stuck in our own preconceptions. I see an Audi and just presume the driver is a bit of a penis. I think the reality is that all 3 of these marques have cars for whatever taste. My Director has a Merc C Class that I think is horrible, he loves the fact it has stupidly hard suspension and he is only able to brake hard and accelerate hard whilst using his flappy paddle gearbox. It's noisey. It's white and matt black on the outside with red brakes! The dashboard has 'kevlar'. A drive across Cardiff is a challenge to kidneys from the stupid seats. I'm sure he meant to buy a TT and just ended up in the wrong showroom. I've also got a C Class. Mine has wood veneer, deep pile carpets and an upgraded stereo. I've just driven from Ipswich to Cardiff, mostly on cruise control, listening to Nigel Kennedy on radio 4. I think I might be the Merc stereotype you are referring to! I guess that must mean BMW and Audi must have cars in their range that are actually comfortable to drive long distances in and not just be 'sporty' in the commuter jams.
