  1. I can't see beyond 'suspicious fire' when looking for a solution.
  2. Yeah not bad, really chuffed for them as they've helped my local team out a fair bit lately. They currently have a 100% win rate in europe, better than Barca.
  3. BANG! you have to read it out loud for the full affect
  4. Slightly academic argument on in / out donors if you already carry the card. The small print on that Welsh thing is that they will still seek family consent wherever possible. The missus and me have an agreement, on death they can have any bits that are useful or frankly just get students to practise surgery on the body. Disposing of the remains will be by the cheapest means available at the time, not worth spending good mourning party money on a fancy coffin or whatever.
  5. there's only one team in Tallinn Bala Town 1:0 Levadia Tallinn strictly speaking they were in Bala, but there you go, the 2013 / 14 season has started
  6. Completely untrue. I may as well not have a degree For the vast majority of good jobs that will give you a career, it certainly is true. Again, total bollocks. And anyway, that isn't how you phrased it. You outright said 'a 2.2 is bad' therefore invalidating the degrees of millions of people. What gives you that power? agreed, any degree is better than no degree there are plenty of govt contracts where they insist the people doing the work are educated to degree level - they don't specify the degree or the grade, but they require a degree for some reason
  7. As hinted at elsewhere, somehow you need to see the paperwork that tells you exactly how far off passing she was. I don't know her, but I'd suggest there is a defo chance the failure was more substantial than is being painted. In the case of my brother, he convinced my parents he could 'go back'. On seeing the evidence, it turned out to 'go back' you had to have been there in the first place. **** knows what he'd been doing for a year, but he hadn't been going to Uni.
  8. anecdotal evidence on scratchcards: My brother used to work in a shop that sold scratch cards. People would come in and buy one or two. If they won, he'd know straight away as they'd turn around and get their winnings. If they hadn't come back in 5 minutes, they'd lost. So, if he sold 6 or 7 cards, and didn't have anyone returning for a tenner, he'd buy the cards up until he got that tenner. It never ever cost him ten to win ten. Given that my bro could work that out, good luck with your corner shop scratch card purchases.
  9. it's nice to be nice But this is work, just tell it straight, you don't believe you've had a fair review and therefore fair remuneration because you weren't given set objectives. It's not personal, you've done what you could but don't believe you had a fair crack at it as the criteria for your work weren't properly set out. You would like it noted not because you want somebody else to take the blame, but to make it clear you feel you can do better for them than the current ranking suggests. It doesn't have to get offensive, if you are not stretching a truth, nothing to fear. The alternative is that you 'protect' somebody that comes over as a mate, you get a low ranking, he announces in a month he's going to Timbuktu to count butterflies and the new Dept Head gets told you're not his most dynamic member of staff.

  11. I thought Tyranosaur was brilliant, and by association, that whole Ken Loach look and feel (I know Ty wasn't a Loach but you get the point). Tyranosaur was brutal and compelling.
  12. each to their own with music and I wouldn't count my taste superior to anyone else's But I'd have felt properly let down by that last headline act, I didn't get any sense of stage craft or participation or light show or big rocking tune or anything from Mumford. Which would be fine, if their music stood on its own two feet, but they were utterly utterly mundane. I couldn't even be bothered to dislike them.
  13. the only way Ireland is going is the old newsagent porn trick Three players wrapped together for £11M You can see Bent on the Front, Clark on the back so you take a punt. It's only when you get home and unwrap it you realise you've been a bit done.

  18. A couple of years back I was working as part of a consultant team and at a meeting where I wasn't present, the Project Manager claimed a design error was my fault in front of our mutual Client. It wasn't my fault and he already knew and accepted that, but for short term face saving on his part he let me take a fall without me being able to defend myself. I got to here about this, so I phoned him: brrrrr brrrr brrrrrr Him: Hi you've reached the VM of so and so, please leave a message. Me: Hi, yes there appears to have been a problem at the meeting, looks like the Client was mis informed on a couple of things and I'd like the opportunity to chat asap, thanks. then I clicked the phone off with the little red phone symbol and for my own benefit over the hands free continued along the lines of..... Me: turns out your a sneaky **** of a lying **** of snake that's going to have his head ripped off and **** in you useless lying **** I'm gonna **** destroy your worthless lying life you ****...... this continued right up to the point I heard his auto message say the voicemail was now full! Odd thing was, he never mentioned it and I never had a problem with him again.
