  3. if you had two diesel mondeo's you'd probably manage it unless you died of boredom first, of course
  4. "Well Hugh, between me and you, I just say I'm a paedo because I'm actually a politician that owns a chain of Estate Agents." "You sick **** Gerry, you sick ****"
  5. We'll have to wait and see what the sentencing is for Watkins, but how bad a time he has relatively will depend on what prison he ends up in. Doubtless he will be classed as a VP, a vulnerable prisoner, that goes with the territory of what he's done. But this might mean a dedicated and separate prison somewhere calm where he can get some form of analysis or treatment so he begins to understand what he's done. If he does ever get to the point where he's lucid enough to genuinely understand what he's done, that should be 'punishment' enough. On the other hand, if he's in some victorian pile where they have a VP wing and a regime that tries to keep VP's separate from other non-VP prisoners then I'd expect most hours of most days he will be locked away and when he isn't locked in his box he will need to be on his guard for all the local hero's looking for fame. Either way, whilst the sentence may not fully match the crime, he won't be having the x-box holiday red top papers would have you believe in. That's not to say that for some, the homeless, ex servicemen with problems, those with mental conditions or those from gang run sink estates, they can find prison almost a haven and do well in prison. But for this guy with this crime, this will not be a good time.
  6. had quite a big night out last night, totally off my face anyway, I was woken up this morning by the sound of my neighbours' lawnmower I just laid there and made the noisey fecker mow around me
  7. I'm going to a gig on Sunday I've been looking forward to for ages, Alabama 3. Bought the tickets the day the tour was announced, put a generic 'meeting' note in the office diary for the Monday. Yesterday I get an e-mail announcing Sunday's gig will be the launch of their whole new sound as they've set off in a different direction. Well, that might be awesome, but I was sort of looking forward to a bit of a boozy singalong. No bass guitar apparently, he's off on the Rutz tour, but he's been replaced by......a DJ with a mixing desk....... Well, we'll see.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPrBj_RLTC0 I just keep coming back to this, love it.

You can't beat the feeling of drinking a can of red stripe whilst taking a dump with the door wide open...single life agrees with me I recon and that was my 4000th post You could send her a selfie of said scene and request a similar one in return? You'll get a good idea of where it's all going quite quickly.
  12. nah, if he had an ipad / ipod / ipatch there'd be a little speech bubble where he mentions having an ipad / ipod / ipatch
  13. I worked on the funicular railway between Lynton and Lynmouth for a while. It had it's ups and downs.
  14. reliable is a truly boring word, right up to the point the lady on the emergency phone says leave the car on the hard shoulder and walk up the embankment until we can get there this bit !
  15. top 10: 3 Toyota's 2 Honda's 2 Skoda 1 Subaru 1 Hyundai 1 ..................Vauxhall ! most known brands got something in the top 30, even Alfa got one in the top 40
  16. just checked the top 40 most reliable cars in the UK for this year, there isn't a Ford on the list, though to be fair the Focus bangs in at a solid 68th incidentally, for a 100+ year old intenational brand, why can't they find a glue or a screw that will keep the capping pieces on Focus and Fiesta doors? You know, whenever you see a Fiesta and there's a piece of plastic missing between the front and rear doors. Any car can have a fault, having the same fault on so many cars for so many years is simply disrespectful to the people that buy your products.
  17. no, to be honest I've never had a job I didn't really enjoy and I would agree with posts above that it's the people that make most jobs acceptable or horrible Had a few pangs of doubt in myself whilst working in an off license selling booze to alcoholics, so I moved on. Didn't solve the problem of drunks getting drink, but it moved off being directly my fault, which is a bit weak but there you go.
  18. The first 16 years are the worst, you could have kept at it instead of finishing it prematurely. Nobody was more surprised than me, I just hadn't seen it coming. Hope you managed to find another stimulating job. I did yes, but I had to start at the bottom.

  20. fluffer packed it in straight after the first 16 years
  21. There are only two ways to go. You completely immerse yourself in every nuance of back story by stop framing every episode and looking for meanings in background objects and cross referencing dialogue, or you watch it as Tardis and daleks. From what I've seen recently, the 11 to 15 year olds are doing the forensics, the 'adults' are watching the explosions and totty and really not trying to decipher meaning from a kids programme where the writers and producers can just change the back story to suit themselves anyway. It's Tardis and Daleks for me. I was lucky enough to end up with tickets for the screening at the 50th Convention and the full day of build up and panels and explanations and celebs and wotnot. I'll be honest most of it washed over me. But what was obvious from the day was that Tom Baker was class apart from everyone else there. Very briefly paraphrased, Baker said that the Dr Who gig was the best thing he'd ever experienced and he'd been an arse to think he was bigger than it. That at the start he loved it so much he would pretend to go home, then bribe security men to let him back in the closed set to stand and stare and sometimes sleep there. But that he grew to think he was awesome, so he left to go on to greater things and took a long time to admit to himself he's been a tit.
  22. fair play, that's disgusting
