  1. official office do is Friday but I'm skipping it went on the much smaller unofficial underground works do last weekend which included abusing the firm's taxi account to the tune of £75 and purchasing booze on expenses
  2. no interest at all in Biggs Bruce Reynolds was a far more interesting character and a much better fit to that stereotype 60's villain come folk hero..
  3. get in touch with the Merc and ask for a namecheck, a credit or a listing of your website as compo at the least cracking photo
  4. Your travel is paid for, wont cost you a dime. You can turn up, clock in and go home for £300 a day, every day, easy money. If you'd already been exposed as a greedy, self serving criminal, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's exactly what you did. Occasionally helping pass the odd law, like making the feckless unemployed work for their benefits of £70 a week (without expenses). I've heard a radio interview with the guy since, he was claiming he couldn't eat and heat on £300 a day. Said it with no sense of irony whatsoever. Tories have lost a good one there.
  5. yeah, having now channel hopped a few times it does appear to be some sort of legitimate medical condition show very poor
  6. by littered, do you mean more than twins? I'd hate that if they weren't mine. incessant talking of the celebrity bollix too, can't take that
  7. home & health channel - tick embarassing bodies - tick female patient - tick let's have a look at your...............infected ear! **** off, I don't scroll down to channel 271 at this hour to see an infected ear
  8. No advice as such, other than what you already know, it's a lot tougher in a small company with no string of line managers and HR procedures. Very best of luck with it, work is a big slice of life so encountering a fucktard that sucks the joy out of it is a major drain. Stick with it and take some comfort in petty victories until you can move on. Definitely talk with CAB and make sure you do everything the right way.
  9. I've been to Sheffield a good few times, too mundane to be truly hated. Bradford I could really dislike if I put my mind to it, along with dirty Leeds.
  10. I've been lucky enough to have a couple of friend of friend tenuous links and contacts that have got me a good few tickets and passes to see them. If they ever get their act together and tour, Daf's new band The Earth are a decent outfit to see live. Daf's on drums, Mark somebody ex of Catatonia on guitar and they knock out a decent tune. They have an album off/on 1 on spotify that's worth a listen. Saw them at a launch gig in Cardiff and the rest of SFA were in the crowd which was good, also saw them do a free gig at a community garden fete in Hammersmith, which was, odd. Lots of people selling organic knitted honey in little hand labelled pots and a band with an amp stack rocking away at 5,000 megawatts.
  11. Like so many programmes on those kinds of channels. I think it's fair to say that if they have found spaceships ghosts dinoshark hitler sperm a decent song by Queen it would be on the main news, not after midnight on ITV 4+1 Gay Rabbit
  12. a storming good band probably still the live band I've seen the most, and that's not counting the other efforts and offshoots of individual band members from pre tour practise micro gigs to the all encompassing Festival Hall gig and just about everything in between
  13. there are few things in life more pleasurable than organising your vinyl over an afternoon masturbation and pies, other than that, organising your vinyl is tops
  14. March! March will go straight through you like undercooked roadkill curry.
  15. DATES! I was stood in the supermarket earlier today, utterly at a loss as to why I was there. Bought a bottle of fizz and extra wide foil and some sausages, but I knew that wasn't why I was there. cheers, I'll e-mail myself for tomorrow.
  16. I was always neutral on the idea of whether it was better to own or rent. There's a lot of grief and responsibility with owning, not least, having invested 25 years of debt into a property you can very quickly end up with some properly bad neighbours. The bad neighbours can reduce the value and stop you selling up and moving. But I've noticed lately that rents are just crazy, really far higher than I expected and certainly locally they appear to be higher than mortgage repayments. I'd feel pretty bad paying out more to rent (i.e. the folks across the road from me), than to actually end up owning the place. House prices are ridiculous, another broken system. We need to build a million homes for sooo many reasons.
  17. to be fair, lots of rugby players are fat, it's not just Stevo
  18. The Mirror chose a tory to show up what a poor system we've managed to evolve for ourselves. I'd be sure the nasty papers could find many examples of Labour leeches too. I'm not familiar with the Lords remuneration system, but if its a flat £300 on attendance regardless then it is as stupid as the system for the Commons. If I didn't turn down my inevitable peerage I couldn't afford to get there and do a day's work and get home for £300. Much better to pop in for 21 minutes eiter side of an overnight stay. Then, with £600 cleared you could possibly make a little modest pocket change.
