  1. 8 years means out in 3.5 if he behaves himself and admits he did actually do it even then, best part of 4 years inside for a man of his age with his background and being used to the finer things in life, it'll be a good long slog
  2. right wing faux outrage at left wing faux outrage at it's Daily Mail laziest
  3. the one 'theory' about this is that it's an internal affair and people that Sinn Fein no longer associate with are trying to drag everyone back to the good old bad old days when their gangs and rackets so them have influence and cash in their local community by naming Adams the hard line dinosaurs drag all this back up, damage the party vote and provoke extreme reaction in that respect Camoron is wrong to say the arrest isn't a political act - I think he meant to say this wasn't state instigated, which I do genuinely believe
  4. ?? You've not heard the stuff he said about the periodic table? Shocking, he should have been burnt at the stake Did you hear what he said about Sodium? ............. Na was it salty?
  5. if it makes you feel any better, my missus drives a 10 year old Nissan Tino in this very colour To be fair, at 10 years old it's only ever 'broken down' twice, by coincidence, I was racing it in Morrisons empty car park on a quiet Sunday the first time it broke (shredded the prop shaft - fixed for free by Nissan). The only other time it needed attention was the morning after I'd driven it. Apparently the lights don't auto switch off so I don't count that as my fault. Other than that it is has behaved perfectly (and the Nissan dealer was excellent). It was one of those 'end of line' models when we bought it, so it was rock bottom price but loaded with every single extra they did, from the obvious alloy wheels and air con to leather seats, electric everything, rear view parking camera, sunroof, all seats except driver seat demountable (brilliant when transporting industrial quantities of compost). Ten years later I think its fair to say it was a good value car.
  6. it's alright for you, I sit directly behind Tonyh and his big bloody Che flag
  7. if you're leaving hygienic catering gloves on for extended periods of time and carrying out several different processes whilst wearing them, doesn't that utterly negate the point of wearing them in the first place?
  8. Has anybody ever seen a single episode of Family Guy also running on the BBC? I guess we're getting down to context, it's ok for Seth MacFarlane to say some fairly outrageous stuff because the words come out of the mouth of a cartoon fat middle aged idiot. In that Clarkson plays a very similar role to Peter Griffin we have to decide if we want to go looking for banning orders wherever we find something stupid. Or whether a flurry or internet rage is sufficient to let the majority be reminded or educated that the reason this was 'shocking' is because it is not an acceptable mainstream view. By all means repeat the words of the cartoon characters if you too want to be considered a bit of a dick. Oh, and don't complain if you use these phrases in public and somebody caves your head in with a frying pan, just like in the cartoons.
  9. I think we said Douglas Bader I could be wrong
  10. never been in a Subway outlet the heavy disgusting smell of, of, well what is that smell outside every Subway? fat? meatball? warm cheesy sweat? I presume that smell must be stronger inside the shop and emanates from the food?
  11. no need to apologise, it's a big emotive subject it's one of the very few subjects that's probably too tricky for a messageboard as people quickly take positions that probably aren't what they'd say face to face with somebody on the other side that has suffered loss it's a count to 10 and re read it sort of subject
  12. on the generality of conflict, war, terrorism if we can't deal with it mutually, peacefully and with some form of humanity and stop taking revenge on the revenge on the revenge then we are condemning our kids to inherit hate, horror and death
  13. well this is Clarkson's career as a self publicising professional word removed totally ruined he's Piers Morgan, but with a gut overhang
  14. His 'inflatable ET amongst princess Diana's floral tributes' thing is excellent. And there is something thrilling about him taking the rip out of Braveheart in front of a Scottish audience, which takes the comedy of discomfort, right to the edge. ah ET tribute, that was indeed excellent see, my missus can't stand Stewart Lee, wants it delivered in 30 seconds, here's a joke......bang! punchline, joke delivered, on to something else in most of our relationship the 30 second delivery suits me just fine
  15. You do realise that it's not their own money they spend? yes we realise that it was ours
  16. this series just finished was truly fine, but you do have to be prepared to go along with it, to enjoy the gaps, to enjoy the horror and the repetition beyond the funny and around again I can see how people could hate it
  17. Too smug and full of shit for my liking but Tony, we've never even met, you short tory bastard
  18. I think this is probably just a question of how much money will be wasted on this before nothing whatsoever comes of it.
  19. I'm ok with political correctness I'm only upset when it goes mad
  20. if there's one thing an interview panel can't resist, it's a slightly slutty Harry Potter
  21. 3rd in form table and it's the last home game in front of fans wanting to go out on a high nobody will be gifted points but I'd expect Birmingham to be trying harder too hard hopefully
