  1. I think we have no choice but to sign a new striker unless Wesley finds his scoring boots between now and New Years Day.
  2. Carragher absolutely did say that Grealish has something that the front 3's at Liverpool and Man City do not have. He commented on how much time Grealish seems to have on the ball and mentioned that his Dad told him, when he first started watching football as a kid, that the best players always seem like they have more time on the ball than the other players and that it was the best compliment he could give Jack. Carragher was clearly very impressed by Jack and thinks that just because he doesn't have blistering pace or scores loads of goals it doesn't stop him being a very good player.
  3. See, I'm not so sure of that. I really want to be wowed by him but for some reason I just can't get carried away by him. There was a chase back in the first half where he looked like he was running in quicksand. I think there's a player in there that we haven't yet seen. I think he's much better than he's shown so far and hopefully we'll get to see that.
  4. He had a good game tonight and he often looks so comfortable on the ball. This is what we need to see him doing more often.
  5. His energy is amazing and must run miles each game. I felt sorry for him tonight because he ran into some great positions second half but players - particularly McGinn - failed to pass to him.
  6. Brilliant tonight but was knackered at the end so will only get better for that.
  7. Good couple of blocks tonight but should have scored that header.
  8. In the one picture he looked like he had moobs. There's definitely something not right with him whether it be lack of form or fitness but we are not seeing the best of John McGinn right now. Some of his decision making was poor tonight.
  9. He was great tonight and it's so refreshing to actually have a left back that can defend and do creative things going forward.
  10. I'd love us to give Jarrod Bowen a chance. He can play out wide or down the middle so can cover a couple of roles and he's a workhorse too. Dangle that England call-up carrot in front of him and I'm sure we'd bag ourselves a real talent.
  11. How do these sycophant people call themselves fans!?
  12. John McGinn definitely shines more when playing alongside Jack Grealish. They clearly work together and are switched on to each others game. However, we need to remember that Luiz and Nakamba are both new to the team/club and things are still clicking into place.
  13. Everton would be too but it didn't stop us winning that one.
  14. You know, I never understood the term "face-palm" until I read your comments. That Burnley style saw them get relegated when they first went up with Dyche. Sheffield United play a 3-5-2 formation and they will eventually get sussed out - next season if not this. Bournemouth have out-performed their stature because they have a manager with an attacking mindset and we have the same in Smith - embrace it.
  15. I'm not so worried. I actually think we'll be bottom after the next five games but it doesn't worry me. I think that, as the season goes on, we'll get better and better - together with an addition or two in January - and we will see better points returns in the latter part of the season.
  16. Before or after Luiz, Targett, Guilbert, Wesley, Jota, Lansbury, Hourihane, Steer, Nyland, Taylor, the list goes on! He's young, new to the proposed hardest league in world football and he has a couple of goals in a handful of starts. Why give him one season so soon after he's started a career with us? Some people expect miracles.
  17. That is a terrible run of fixtures and we will have done Nakamba not to be bottom of the league after those five league games. Realistically, 3 points against Newcastle is all I would hope for. However, we have to really fight in the hope that we get something more than that and all I can see is maybe a point against Leicester and Sheffield United, at best.
  18. He was our main attacking threat today and seemed the only player capable of making something happen. Considering where he's come from and how long he's been here, I'm more than happy with how he's doing.
  19. Only thing different I would have done is change Nakamba for Hourihane instead of Lansbury. He played the correct players today but, unfortunately, they seemed to cave in when our keeper and left back had to go off. If those players had applied themselves in the first half as they did the second half we may well have gotten something out of the game. Only thing Smith can be blamed for is maybe not bringing in a other striker and wide man in the summer as we do look short of cover in both positions.
  20. I don't think Luiz is suited to playing a deep midfield role. If he's not playing nearer the attack I wouldn't bother playing him
  21. He did well today, much better than expected given the circumstances.
