If you're setting up not to lose then surely Hourihane doesn't start that game? By his inclusion, I thought that Deano felt he might be able to inspire us on to something positive.

We need to make sure we beat both Southampton and Norwich at home and get something at Watford too. Do that and we'll be OK.

Villan4Life, who, in your professional opinion as a scout for talent, would you consider the right kind of natural scorer that Villa could possibly get?

I've just looked at the fixtures planned for TV. By January 12th we will have played 12 live leagues already this season. There will surely be more to follow so that looks good for the accounts side of things!

Everton have a pretty average looking starting lineup considering they've spent around half a billion since the new owners too over. Their back four is dodgy and only Richarlison looks a threat up front. They could well stay in the mix for relegation. Southampton, Norwich, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Watford and Brighton will all be in the fight for survival too. We need to bring in another two forwards to help our cause.

I thought that too, for a moment, but then I realised something. Most of our play starts from the left with Mings and the ploy is to get Grealish on the ball as much as possible so with him playing out wide left that's where the ball was going. However, Jack was having no joy - especially with the leniency from the ref - so he drifted over and when Trez scored they were in opposite areas to where they started the game. Trez was in the centre forward position to score and its very commendable of the effort on his part that he does get around the pitch a lot.

It was incredible! A great goalkeeper who is proving his worth to us for sure.

We need to buy or loan a decent striker for sure. I also think we need another wide player. I would like us to start playing Jack behind the striker again and have Trez and El Ghazi on the wings.

He's a prospect for sure but I'd prefer Engels in for the challenges ahead.

I'm really pleased with Trez and I think he's going to go on to do really well for us. He really tries and works hard, seems to find goalscoring positions each game he plays and, shows the occasional glimpses of flair. He will only get better as he settles and gets used to the league/country etc.

I think we're all frustrated because Wesley has the build to do well as a Premier League forward and with him being Brazilian we seem to expect him to be better. I think there's a player in there somewhere but clearly, right now, there's no sign of that player and for everyone's sake he needs replacing in the starting lineup.

Tonight, so far, he's looked frustratingly lazy and cumbersome. McGinn just put in a great ball and, for a centre forward, he should be attacking that all and not just standing there hoping it lands on his head. Whilst we were defending deep, Chelsea were playing the ball freely between their centre backs on the halfway line with Wesley waving his hands at Villa players to move forward. He should be chasing down those players and try to force a mistake out of them rather than just standing watching them play the ball around him.

More casual play from Ty again tonight. He needs to sharpen up a bit.

It was and he is unlucky not to have scored more this season. That's why I have him as anytime scorer each game.

He's got to cut out the silly mistakes. Since he and McGinn got called on for their national teams they haven't been the same players. I hope Southgate keeps his mitts off Jack.

I feel really sorry for him today. If Jack had moved a little quicker to get on-side and then Trez's first would have counted. He smacked the bar with De Gea left bemused and, then, Mings smashed in a volleyed equaliser when Trez was just about to smash in a volley himself. He could easily have had a hat-trick today and he had a really good game once he came on.

John isn't performing to the same standard he was hitting prior to his Scotland call-ups.

If Jack ever leaves us, I hope he goes to Barcelona for £100m+ and tears that league apart.

I don't hold out much hope for Davis but right now I'd give him a go over Wesley if, at the very least, to give Wesley a major kick up the arse that he seems to need.

It's strange today. Man United away used to be a fixture that we'd simply write off but this Man United is far from the teams of old. Smith and the coaching staff need to get it into the heads of the players that this is not a classic Man United side and that, if we play at our best, we can cause an upset today. We scored two at Arsenal and should have had more. We can easily score at Old Trafford. We conceded three at the Emirates but their forward line is better than Man United's so I believe there's hope for us today to get a good result. I just hope the players don't get overawed by walking out at Old Trafford. Villa win either 1-0 or 2-1 with Jack, John, Tyrone and Tom putting in masterful performances today.

I think we'll score against Manure so just need to hope that our defenders don't get overwhelmed by the name of the opponent and play the players that are in front of them instead.

Jack would absolutely thrive playing for Barcelona with the off-the-wall movement of players around him and the slower tempo out there.

I think he has it in him to be a decent centre forward but he's just not showing it. He is quite poor at holding the ball up and just stands waving his arms when the ball is taken from him. He needs to be stronger and smarter - he has the build to do that! Some of his runs aren't clever or quick enough and he seems to need to be pushed by the team/management/fans to close down opponents etc. Not writing him off but he's in danger of losing his place unless he livens himself up.

The guy can pass! That cross-pass to Hourihane, where Conor volleyed it over from the edge of the box, was inch-perfect and sublime.
