The problem with posts like this is, I start trawling through the Romanian league for the best goalscorers. I then find that the league's top scorer is a 21 year old Romanian left winger who has scored 10 and assisted 7 goals this season and is highly rated and compared to Mbappe. Forinel Coman is his name and, apparently, Man City and West Ham were linked at the back end of last year. Let's see if there's any truth in the Suso thing.

I like the new three-man defence but, I would like to see Engels play on the right side of that system. No offence meant to Konsa who, I think, will become a really good defender in years to come. But, I think Engels is more physically structured for the battles of the top flight right now and with Mings sweeping up behind him I think we might see a really strong defender in Engels in that system.

That's true. When the interviewer told Nyland that Hinchcliffe thought he was great tonight but Mings was better, Mings accepted it - rather regrettably - and said something like "I doubt that". Proper grounded and a really likeable human being. He bossed that game tonight and you could see in the slow motion replay of the Leicester goal that he stretched every sinew to try to block that shot. He's every bit a player that any man would like to have playing alongside of him.

Was tonight decent for you then? Wow, that's a positive. We do often, as stats will show, perform worse in second halves of games this season. So, let's look at how that could be. Does Smith not have enough about him to get a better level of performance second half or, maybe, our players - largely new to this level of competition - tire in the latter stages of games? Give them time and they will get there!

Brilliant tonight and so far hasn't done anything worse than how Heaton was performing. Last season, he was a disaster waiting to happen in every game. Maybe, just maybe, Nyland is a perfect example of what we can expect when we give a foreign player, new to league and the English game/culture etc, time to settle down and get used to his surroundings. This gives me hope for all the other new boys.

He just wants too much time on the ball sometimes. He'll get used to the league and the English game speed with time and then he will be a much better player.

If I was a Villa keeper, I would never pass the ball to any of my defenders or defensive midfielders. We are our own worst enemies.

Can't deny that Luiz needs to protect the ball better than that but we need to stop playing suicidal football from the back.

I have not mentioned Glen Whelan since he left so you're clearly mistaking me for someone else.

Not sure about Drinkwater. He was brilliant the season Leicester won the league but done nothing else since and to not get into that Burnley side makes you wonder just how he's been performing in training. Hopefully, Danny will prove to us all why he was a Premier League Champion.
