  1. I think that if we signed Wanyama and Pereiro we would massively improve our chances of staying up. Pereiro is still young at 24 and has a great scoring record for an attacking midfielder. He could play wide right of the front three and Jack could go back in the middle behind the striker. Get Wanyama in midfield to give us some protection and we'll be sorted. Edit: didn't realise Wanyama has no legs these days. Swiftly onto the next player who knows how to win tackles please
  2. Just get to 40 points and be done with stats.
  3. We need to beat Bournemouth for sure. That's a start. I think we can beat Newcastle too. I'm not so sure of beating Palace so I think that might be a draw. I think Arsenal are the beatable team. Also, I think we will get a draw off Spurs and Southampton. Like you said, mix and match. As long as we get at least 40 points we will hopefully be OK.
  4. With Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea all being ordinary this season, the lower teams are getting extra points than usual. Because of that, it does look like it will take more points than usual to stay up. For me, Villa have to get to 40 points to have a decent chance of staying up and, to do that, we simply have to take points off teams that are sat in the top half. Hopefully, when we play them at Villa Park, we can take points off the four teams mentioned above. If we could get 5 or more points from them we will be doing ourselves a big favour. 15 more points please Villa - no less.
  5. 4 wins and 3 draws should see us home. We'd be very unlucky to go down if we reach 40 points. Good thing about the team is, they play until the final whistle. We've had last gasp winners this season that proves we fight until the end when we are still in the game. Hopefully, they'll keep fighting like that.
  6. Wonder if the fans have recovered from their injuries yet?
  7. Does Will Carling have a son that plays football of the round variety?
  8. My money's on The Plough or Julie B's basement.
  9. I agree with you. I didn't rate him at all tonight.
  10. Absolutely spot on. He's been an inspired signing so far.
  11. Fantastic game and his link-up play with Jack caused them problems all night. I think he had most shots on target for Villa.
  12. I thought Fred was great tonight. I love his energy and you can see he's a real team man.
  13. And pigs fly over fields filled with Unicorns.
  14. Great finish and an even better celebration. Great performance tonight Doug. Keep it up for a whole game and make the place yours!
  15. I think we need a new emoji with references to taking illegal substances, just to be used on a certain few posters
  16. Bossed it tonight and against some real units in that Watford midfield. Best game tonight. Please keep it up Marvellous and you'll become a fan favourite with performances like that.
  17. He looked better on the ball but was pissing sweat after 20 minutes. He looked so leggy and unfit.
  18. The back four scored that goal! Reina free kick into the box. Hause heads it down. Mings takes it on before being fouled. The ball falls to Konsa and he fires it home (edit) off Mings. They made up for their mistakes with that goal!
  19. Pussetto has come on. Wonder if he's got a relative named Camelto?
  20. Totally agree - he's muddered them down that left side.
  21. I haven't caught up with the posts after the goal so forgive me if already mentioned but, did anyone else notice Dougie's piss-take strut to rub it in that bluenose clearing in the woods's ugly mush?
  22. Four players in the box waiting for a cross from Grealish and all of them are within the frame of the goal. Nobody attacking from the back post or near post. That's what happens without a striker. They're all too crowded and, well, desperate.
  23. Sorry guys but I think we'll lose this 3-0 again. Why, I can see them scoring one against the run and then when we throw the kitchen sink at it I can see them catching us on the break. Our defending is so poor that you simply have to fear us conceding more. Right now, a striker won't help us unless we can score two or more per game. Our defending is that bad.
  24. Couldn't agree more. What about a back three trio of: Engels - Chester - Mings
  25. Hause has been terrible this first half. Even when their player broke free from the halfway like and Reina came out to clear, it was Hause that was a couple of yards behind the rest of the back line and playing their player on-side. Konsa hasn't been much better and without doubt should have been the man marking Deeney. To be fair, even if he went up for the header with Deeney, I think he would have wanted it more and still scored. Up until that goal, I thought we looked quite good albeit without ever really looking like scoring. It's clear as day that we do not have a striker, someone to make clever runs and hold the ball up whilst bringing others into play. Nakamba has been the stand-out Villa player so far. He's been brilliant for that 45 minutes and even matched up against Capoue on a couple of occasions. He needs to get a grip of that defence otherwise they'll score more.
