  1. He never tracked back yesterday but, had he done so, he could many have got to Foden to stop him knocking the ball back to Aguero. AEG is lazy!
  2. That's where he played and did well at the last AFCON and he also scored that winning goal against Leicester frkm that position when Elmo crossed from the right.
  3. Spot on mate. He's a finisher and has a steely look about him. Ally looks like a player on a mission.
  4. What was he even thinking? It's like he was tackled by a ghost!
  5. Guilbert has been left to do the job of two men. For the corner he should never have been marking him.
  6. I'd love this. Davis wide left and Samatta wide right and just kick it down the wings for them to run on to. It's basic but that's where their space is.
  7. Thank you! Our full backs are tucking in to tighten the spaces but El Ghazi and Elmohamady are just doing absolutely nothing defensively and hanging them out to dry. If we had more disciplined wide men we might still have a chance. Maybe swap Elmo for Trezeguet - he puts a shift in - and throw on Davis late to bully them.
  8. Exactly! It's a **** joke. We don't have much of a chance playing against this season's potential European Champions but to give them a corner when it is clearly a goal kick is just taking the piss and pure negligence. VAR is a broken tool to give refs a cop-out.
  9. Redknapp is a complete and utter fanny. I bet he even smells like a wet one! Villa have been given as good a chance as possible today. No De Bruyne and Stones starting. I would not have gone 4-3-3 for this. I'd have gone Davis up front to hopefully bully their centre backs. I still think we will get hammered.
  10. Can I just say, for the record, I was happy to take 17th at the start of the season and not once have I written any player off - I think. For me, it has purely been a case of too many new boys, in a new (top) league, in a new country that has cost us. I think we needed more experienced heads on the pitch going into the season.
  11. Watford were mighty smart last night and their management team clearly found a weakness in that Liverpool team. Watch what Watford did everytime Liverpool went into the their half. Their forwards - Deeney and Sarr - spread the width of the pitch with Sarr wide right in the space vacated by Robertson and Deeney wide left in the space vacated by Alexander-Arnold. Everytime Watford won the ball back they just hit it out wide to either of them to run at isolated defenders and their midfield then broke to join in. It wasn't rocket science but they clearly knew how to exploit any chink in the Liverpool armour. Clever management. This is what we need to see from the Villa - game management. Every team has a weakness or two and it's up to the management team to find them and get the players to exploit them.
  12. The biggest win in a LC Final is 5-0. I can't help but feel we will create another unwanted record tomorrow. Either that or they have a player sent off early and we win on pens.
  13. What a bad weekend and tomorrow will just seal it off when we get battered by at least 4 goals. The players need to watch the Liverpool v Watford game and use it as a guide to how they need to perform for the rest of this season.
  14. Today has shown what our problem is, we lack fight. As individuals, there are too many softies in our side. I don't see fight and determination when I look at Hause, Konsa, Nakamba or Luiz. They are part of the side trying to protect our goal. Then, at the other end, there's no fight and grit in either of El Ghazi or Trezeguet. Watford should have had players booked against Liverpool but they rode their luck of being physical and are currently reaping the reward for that.
  15. I think the "surprise", if any, will be to play Keinan Davis up front with Ally Samatta. Then, have a central midfield three of Grealish, Luiz and Nakamba. A proper 5-3-2 formation.
  16. Not really. Both Mings and Grealish, our two main leaders on the pitch, were clearly not happy with El Ghazi. It wasn't about his previous performances but what he was doing at that time.
  17. Or, maybe the players felt that playing on with only 10 men wouldn't make a difference has been as it was El Ghazi off the pitch?
  18. It would be nice if someone could learn to park it in front of our goal!
  19. I just read that SJM will need to get up yo speed but, with him, I'm sort of anticipating him running around like a crazed man trying to make up for lost time.
  20. Dude, I'm a realist but even I would give us something gfrom 20 games against them! 100 goals against?
  21. Now I know you're screwed up - comparing Pogba with McGinn! How very dare you!
  22. I think that Watford will be the second team to go down and the third will be a straight shootout between us and West Ham on the last day. Although, to be honest, we might be lucky for it to come down to that.
  23. I think West Ham will escape the drop due to their easier run-in. They've had a really tough run of games but could easily pick up a load of points in the last 5 or 6 games.
  24. If we go down I think we sell the following for big bucks: Mings £25m, McGinn £40m, Luiz £15m & Grealish £75m. We might add another £10m from others we let go. That's a whopping £165m. If we spend £85m of that on replacements we still have £80m in the bank to go back up with. Add the £130m we could be guaranteed and that gives us over £200m to spend next time so could bring in much better quality.
  25. I think this is one guy who played himself out of a starting place next week.
