Villa need to really push these here. No sitting back or standing off players. Get stuck in to challenges and put their bodies in the way of everything.
Villa have to hold on now and defend for their top flight status and defy these commentators doing everything to jinx us.
The Villa guys need to boss this now and man-up.
Elmo put about two or three great crosses into the box first half so why not get the ball to him more?
Jack has been piss poor today.
Trezeguet has been terrible but I guarantee he will do more than El Ghazi.
People want Davis on? Really? The man who never scores on for a man who has scored more than him in about a fifth of the games?
Hourihane's crosses have been so bad they make mine look amazing.
Douglas Luiz is head and shoulders above every other Villa player. He's been by far our best player since the return.
Wesley? I guarantee that he would have buried that first cross of Elmo's.
We have been crap this season but so have Watford, West Ham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Norwich and a couple of others. What's cost us is VAR. The decisions that have gone against us this season have killed us.
We need Leicester to beat Bournemouth tonight and for Bournemouth to get a spanking v Man City. They may get something against Southampton but that is a South East Coast Derby so some pride at stake there. I see them taking 4 points maximum if they lose tonight.
I am hoping West Ham beat Watford because Watford should lose the last two. That'll leave them on 34 points and hopefully with a gd of - 28+
If Villa can get a point v Everton and a win v West Ham on the last day, as long as we don't lose to Arsenal by more than we win by at West Ham, we would be safe.
All that is not unfeasible guys.
I've often felt sorry for him because we've played him pretty much out of position all season but he has scored. A few vitla goals for the cause and works much harder than El Ghazi and Hourihane when in the team.
Took his goals brilliantly today and I'm happy for him.
People calling for Smith to go need to realise that any replacement will have the exact same group of players to choose from. Too late for change now. He needs to stick a rocket up them and push them as hard as possible to get 7 points minimum from Palace, Everton and West Ham and hope it is enough.
I'll tell you something guys; earlier today I remembered back to when we last got relegated and that hammering we took from Liverpool. I feared tonight might be that type of result and even checked out the odds of a 0-5 (50/1) but didn't want to jinx them so didn't bother.
McGinn off should've happened after about 30 minutes. El Ghazi shouldn't have come out second half. Samatta has had no service so feel sorry for him.
He's clearly spent his time off recovering by bulking up as he is way too top heavy.
McGinn, Mings and Grealish, on this form, would not be missed at all.
Watch the behind-the-goal replay of that second goal. John McGinn was trudging back like an overweight pissed bloke running for the last bus home. He actually ends up a couple of yards behind Greenwood when the ball is returned to him. If McGinn had shown any pace at all he would have got back to intercept that pass.
Sorry but this John McGinn isn't 10% of the player we saw last season.
